Just think, NY could have traded for Verlander last year at the deadline but opted for Sonny Gray instead.

ps.... I think they used the old mike hampton bobble heads rather than take the time/effort/expense to actually come up with a bobble head that looked like verlander himself....

So if weather stays bad would they cancel the game or do they just freeze the score and start again some other time?

It would be like none if this happened.
However they are about to restart now.

Gray had a health scare a few days ago after a comebacker hit his thumb. X-rays were negative, and he won’t miss any time. However, his issues in New York aren’t related to his health. He’s been awful in New Yankee Stadium. In 46 1/3 innings in New York, Gray has a 6.80 ERA. He’s allowed nine homers and owns a 36:28 K:BB ratio in New York.

Just an all around embarrassment.
Horrible play in the field and 1 run against a Guy with 14 losses.

I actually have Cobb rated better than Gray, which is why I took the plunge. You visit my daily thread right? I said several times that Cobb is a candidate for good regression, he is not that bad.

Kinda bummed that I ignored most these games cause when I capped them late last night I saw 60-70-80% chances all throughout game times and didn’t want any part of that shit. Now I get home and see mf’ers all played on schedule!! lol.
Pretty sure for the night games the fish/braves forecast was bad, has that changed?

they're about to crack it open right here. you're good... missed the early slate because I'm swamped with work (not a bad thing) but the late games are looking ripe. some doggies too. Brewers and rockies looking good.

This is revisionist history though. He was traded well after the trade deadline if I recall correctly, and nobody claimed him on waivers because his contract is huge hence needing longer than 48 hours to negotiate a deal. JV wasn’t putting up these phenomenal numbers in 2017 prior to going to Houston- on a big contract, no less. Not defending the trade for sonny as I’ve always thought he’s a mediocre pitcher at best, just pointing out hindsight is 20/20

There was every reason to believe Verlander was washed up. He had a huge turnaround.
Also Yankees very young team Thought gray could be part of it. Turns out he's the next Carl pavano, javy Vasquez, ect.
Not like anyone they traded for him is lighting it up though. So its not as bad as it could be.

Gray is an asset won't be released. Probably traded to small market in off season.

Verlander wouldn't be putting up the same numbers in NY.
Houston has something in their water, and the starting pitchers are pitching out of their minds.
