#4Was she really suggesting equal pay? Or just pointing out the huge gap (which obviously does exist) between the two and suggesting that the women ought to be paid better (even if not equal)?
But either way, according to what I know the WNBA actually loses $ each year - it only survives based on extra $ that the NBA helps to bring in. So where exactly does she feel these higher salaries should come from? Odd to expect a raise from a "company" which is losing $ every year - the opposite seems far more likely from a business standpoint.
Simple fact is, gender really isn't meaningful in this context - the issue is: those players who bring in the fans and thereby the revenue are the ones who get appropriately compensated for it. And right now that is what the NBA does and the WNBA really does not (at least not anything near in comparison). As such, that gap is the only logical business move. I mean in some big movie, always the biggest star of the movie (male or female) is the one who gets compensated the most while other, minor actors/actresses, get paid far less. Does she think every actor/actress in any given movie should automatically get equal compensation?Comment -

#5WNBA players are the most overpaid humans in the history of the world
If they made minimum wage they would still be overpaid

#6LOL... I want a toilet made out of gold also but it's not in the cards..
I honestly don't know how the WNBA is even able to pay the players now? Seen the attendances at these games? Sparks and the Staples Center is almost empty for every game. Tickets are cheap too...
Nobody really wants to see dike looking chicks play hoop.. I know I don't... I don't mind betting on it though..Last edited by JIBBBY; 07-09-18, 04:53 PM.Comment -

#9Women aren't being treated fairly enough. All NBA players should have half of their salaries forcibly removed at gunpoint and given to WNBA players. Fair is fair. On another note, I'm surprised Dwilly wasn't the op of this thread.Comment -

#13As I said above, if she expects them to generally be paid higher (whether it's equal to the NBA players or not), where again does she expect that $ to come from? Once more, the WNBA itself as an entity loses $ every year (at least to my knowledge) so not like the company itself can afford to pay higher salaries.
So I'm genuinely curious if someone were to ask her about that extra $ for higher salaries where she believes it should come from? As is often said, $ doesn't grow on trees.
There are a heck of a lot of people in the country (and world for that matter) who I'm sure also believe that they deserve better compensation for the job that they are doing, whatever it might be. But if that's the case, it's your job to negotiate for it or to prove that you deserve it by creating the value which necessitates it. Just like the movie stars who complain about how their co-star makes more than them: if you sign a deal for a specific amount of $ and then feel it's unfair, well whose fault is that? You certainly had the option to not sign to begin with if you felt the compensation was not sufficient - same thing applies to her. Why sign a contract with the WNBA under those terms if you think it's unfair and then complain after the fact?Comment -

#24WNBA would of folded many years ago if the NBA didn’t fund the league. Look at all the teams that have folded over the years. I take my daughter to a couple of Lynx games and they actually have decent crowds. They only play 32 games in the summer and make decent money for a season that only last 4 months. They make a lot more money overseas, not sure why players bother with the WNBA.Comment -

#34From experience, being yourself in front of a normal average looking girl works but that shit won't work if your trying to pickup a skanky or rich/sophisticated type of girl. Women love guys who exaggerate and pump themselves up to be something more than they actually are.Comment -
