Maybe you misunderstood the guy on VSiN. This could be what he meant...

In the last five major tournaments, Adidas sponsored teams have performed the best and progressed the furthest. They have won 3 out of 5 tournaments and have had the most teams advance to late stages (semis, finals). Generally, golden boot winners come from teams that progress into late stages of the world cup, so you can conclude that players on Adidas sponsored teams have the best chance for the golden boot. By this logic Muller, Werner, Messi, Lukaku, Hazard, De Bruyne, Diego Costa, James are some good options.
