Lakers have good young talent too, add LeBron and Paul George and they should be fine.

And does it matter why he us doing it? Everything I have read makes Lakers to LA seem close to a done deal. I am all for betting longshots but I am passing on the Where will LeBron go prop because I am not betting against Lakers.

He will deal, core Lakers youngsters from last year are going nowhere. I do expect Lakers to add one more vet (might still be George) but even if they do not, James will still be in LA for better of worse.

it was smart. always keep your options open so that the team or business (applies to corporate america too) feels they need to pay you more to keep you. it's called LEVERAGE. i have used it no fewer than 3 times in my line of work (Medical Device Sales) to earn pay raises. I had ZERO intention of leaving my last company at the time I wanted a raise, but I made them think I was looking for a new job so I got the raise I asked for to the exact dollar, and believe me man it was quite a jump.

LEVERAGE. LeBron is a master at it.
