RICK PORCELLO vs CHARLIE MORTON / Red Sox at Astros__ How many runs get scored?
basically the biggest game of the year
Ben May is calling balls and strikes.. The road team is 7-0 when he is home plate umpire

Wanna say high strike percentage and fairly big kzone but have to go back and look as they all start blending together on me by time I get to end of the card.
Porcello had his worse start of year may 14, with May behind the plate

Unfortunately it was only game he has pitched w May calling balls and strikes. Like to see a handful of those before taking anything from it.

What happened to the garbage Charlie Morton who used to play for the Pirates? This guy went from a fringe starter to one of the best.

fringer starter is very inaccurate
Pirates pitching coach made him use 2 seamer. Astros tweaked some things and have him using 4 seamer
Morton had 3 under rated seasons with the bucs and 1.5 enigmatic seasons. but he was a big part of their first time in decades success.
AStro's pitching coaches should win all sorts of awards though for how they get next level stuff out of guys with the potential

They either geniuses or dishing out juice like candy, not sure which? Look at JV before and after Houston, just knew Cole was gonna go back to being a stud when they got him.

Personally, I think half the team dabbling in some form of “secret” supplement. Combined height /weight of Altuve/Bregman might be 10”/350lbs, but they hitting bombs on pitches 2 ft out of strikezone. Verlander and Morton were on a normal trajectory for any mid 30yr pitcher, basically becoming gas cans, now they suddenly found fountain. Only studs on Astros seem unenhanced are Keuchel and Correa.

Only thing keuchel on some advanced hair growing treatments for that stupid beard! How hideous does ones face have to be to think that a good idea?
Correct me if I'm wrong but JV was looking all but finished in Detroit wasn't he? I get a little extra motivation to go play for a winner but this rediculous! Cards should send waino there and see what they can do for him!!

well if you go from throwing 2 seamers to 4 seamers.... you'll se a jump in average of 2-5 MPH's
also 2 years after recovery from Tommy John, many pitchers see a few MPH up tick as well
quick search shows avg MPH for him was
2016-93.33
2017-94.86
2018- 96.36
I think Morton had TJ surgery in 2015 or 16

It was just too close for me to go over w that ump. Kinda think it does get there late, prob be a sweat till stros pen gets involved. Think Houston gets some early, Boston late and ultimately gets tied at 4 with next run winning so I'm with ya on 9 but just passing. Price on Boston kinda tempting in what I think be a close game.
