I understand based on original series line and previous game lines that the books are giving the Sixers a lot of respect, but hasn’t Boston earned a -1 or -2 home spread at this point? Not sure the Sixers did anything last night to justify being a road fave.
Why isn’t Boston favored in Game 5?

#7They are messin' with heads. Basically pk, go with who you think wins
forget the line. I'm not sold on Philly just because they won a game
for their fans, with help from the officials and a Boston team that
apparently took a break somewhat.Comment -

#8Trying to entice philly money I would assume. Put philly -4 and the price is too high which leads to most betting on Boston. Make philly an underdog and it says series is over. But make them a fave and a nice low line and then hope people take the baitComment -

#9Philly was -4 in Boston first two games, books don't move lines TOO much within a series. Current line is 2.5 points less than first two games, that seems pretty fair.Comment -

Yes, like I said in the opening post - I understand they can’t deviate TOO much from the opening line but there’s not much difference between +1 and -1. Books don’t generally go with the Pk em line anymore.Comment -

#11Agree mostly. The officials didn’t help Philly though. Take your Celtics hat off for a minute. Both teams played physical. Every foul call on Boston was legitimate and probably could have called more on both teams. The double tech should have been a tech on Rozier only. The only questionable thing was the back to back techs on Jaylen Brown and Stevens but that didn’t change the game.
Tend to agree with this. How I read it as well. Doesn’t mean Philly can’t win though.

But if they really thought Boston wins they would come off itComment -

#15Yeah books just won't adjust too much in a series based on how the first few games played out. They've already adjusted abotu 3-4 points, don't see it going any higher. And there isn't a huge difference between Philly -1.5 and Philly +1. A lot of times people will just play the ML when it is that low.Comment -

#16Didn't game 1 open at PHI -2 but moved due to Jaylen Brown injury and just in general money pouring into Sixers? Game 2 opened at 3 and again was moved towards 4, 4.5.Comment -

#20i never understood why everyone cares so much about stats. it means nothing in the playoffs. every game starts from scratch. and i see public being heavily on the celtics due to the line. philly wins this and the books will make bank.Comment -

#21Rumor says NBA didn't want to go dark for the next 3 days. Last year they went dark for 4 days
and the ratings suffered.
There was disappointment in the locker room but the Celtics appeared resigned. They didn’t attempt a free throw from the 11-minute mark of the second period to the 28.3-second mark of the third period, a stretch of 22 minutes, 32 seconds. The 76ers attempted 16 in that span.Comment -
