Thank you Austin Rivers-said no one ever
    Until now.

Had a really good day with NBA sports bet. Watching the Spurs/Clippers game to close the night. As a blazer fan I really need the clippers to win.

They were down 2 with 37 seconds left but had the ball. So I laid this bet.

Definitely. Biased for the blazers. And also some OCD, I hate having odd balances on my sports books. And when a shooter is hot, roll the dice

Hell yeah it is! Nice hit. I had the Clips +1 1/2 and they score 41 in the 4th to seal the deal! Crazy shit this last week of hoops!

Spurs had been 392-1 when leading by at least 19 points and 11 points after the 3rd quarter. I lost $400 on them tonight.

Dodgers had been 353-0 when leading by at least 3 runs after the 8th inning. I lost $377 on them last night.

Needless to say, when you take those beats, in back-back nights - it takes an extraordinary amount of self discipline not to thrown down $1,000 on the Dodgers tomorrow and try to get it all back. But I ain't gonna give in to that temptation. Bad beats only make you stronger when you can take the bad beat, accept it, and not go on tilt.

I had a chance to win 1100 but did not hedge it. Pinny offered many times +700 live for Clips. I never hedge.

Depends on your bank roll I guess. I re-upped for $40 in January, and ran it up to my high point last week was $4,300. Then I had a horrible start on baseball and am back down to $2,900. I'm not gonna bet $1,000 on any game not matter how many bad beats I take. It took months to build up a bank roll. I'm not giving it all back in one bet. Because I know if I won it, I'd only feel lucky. And if I lost it, I'd be thinking about how stupid of bet it was to do that and cancel out all the good betting I had been doing the last month.

I don't mind losing on bad beats. I do mind when I lose on stupid bets of my own stupidity, and I've made far too many like that on tilt in the past where I'm just never gonna do it again. In order to kill my bank roll, I'm forcing the book to stab me 200 times. I'm not gonna take a gun and blow my own brains out in one bet.

plaza, it's okay to bet $300 on Twins tomorrow.

My one caveat, turning $40 into $4300 seems a bit of a stretch. You sure you didn`t re-up with 4 hundo?
If re-upping with $40, what exactly is your unit $$? 5 bucks?

100x BR in a couple months should be celebrated.

I only used $40. This is how I did it: I basically started betting more as I won more. Obviously at the beginning, I was going close to all in just to get the roll up a bit.

I was going to make a post that said how to go from $40 to $10,000...but that aint happening. If college basketball was all year around I think I could pull it off, but baseball is too hard. I'm just going to try to maintain my bankroll till football season starts. Already lost way too much first week of baseball.

Chris Sheridan of Basketball News floated out the possibility this week of new Sixers GM Daryl Morey trading for Austin, the Houston Rockets guard. The rationale behind the move would be to get more hands-on leadership out of Doc, the Sixers new head coach.

                                            Per Sheridan:

A trusted source said the best trade any Sixers GM could make would be to bring in Austin Rivers, because it will turn Rivers into a more hands-on coach who is in the gym more than he is on the golf course.

Maybe they could sign Jeremiah Rivers and save some cash.
