losing 5-10% after a 900% up move isn't a bargain, wait for a huge dump

That 2000 to 2002 huge drop was during the dot.com bubble burst. L18Y no drop anywhere near that.

a huge % of these tech earnings are based on government contracts, how long do you think the us govt can keep running trillion dollar deficits?

stock market/economy historically has major issues every 7 years (shemitah)... 1980/1987/1994/2001/2008 and then 2015 nothing happened, so did that just get skipped to 2020, or 2022?

things get overbuilt and overbought which creates bubbles, and those usually don't get fixed by a 10% move, coronavirus is just the latest excuse, like 9/11, housing crisis, long-term capital management, etc

as they are dipping below your cost you should DCA every 10-15% drop and simply lower your cost. you will make out like a bandit but you have to wait 4-5 years.

depends on the company/asset... some of these things are going bankrupt... in the meantime you're right there are opportunities, i play a lot in the preferred stocks, check out this arbitrage

so the d shares are over 4 points higher, they have the same value of $25/share, same liquidation value, and the c shares pay the higher dividend. the spread actually got to around 5 points today on decent volume, so anyone could've made an easy 40% or so arbitrage and could still make quite a bit if they have a broker allowing shorts on preferreds.

Most of the SP500 going to miss 1st and 2nd qtr earnings and yearly guidance will be downgraded.

Theres another 15% drop coming, however, it will bounce back over next 2-4 years....just can't have stocks valued at 40xs earnings...that's what's happening with all these misses and downgrades.

Won't be 2-4 years. The 2nd half of '20 will be strong assuming Sanders does not win.

If S&P doesn't hold at 2900 tomorrow it will slide to 2700 for the next stop and then the real test is at 2400. If it holds at 2400 twice then it could form a bottom.
