Even if they pass a tax bill, it would be later in 2021 with changes taking effect in 2022. Won't be retroactive.

Normally if you already have short term gains in 2020 taxed at your marginal tax rate it would make sense to split it up into two different years if possible.

It wasn't withheld? If you have a sizable liability at the end of the year they will get you with penalties and interest.

Personally, I think Repubs will win both of those senate seats and we will get a relieve rally.

But if Dems win things could get pretty darn ugly. Not so much with policy. I'm worried about market psychology and a stampede towards the door. Like we saw in March.

Dems have said they want to raise business taxes from 21% back to 35%. You will have to revalue stocks if nearly half their bottom line is taken in taxes. Just as we did to the upside when rates were cut.

I don't think Dems will win. But if they do it's possible it could get ugly.
