I don’t usually bet tennis but my +5.5 got cancelled. Would straight up bets on the winner be cancelled too?

Depends on the book, have to read their tennis rules. For example, Heritage = at least one set has to be played. BookMaker = match must be completed.

Yeah different rules at books for tennis voids.

Most will void all sides and totals if not completed.

Some will pay those if they would have definitely won anyway had the match completed normally.

For ML bets, one or two require one ball served. Quite a few require 1 set or 2 sets completed and maybe 50% require the match to be completed for action.

When betting tennis it's good to know your books rules. So if betting on a match where one player is under an injury cloud you can choose the rules that best fit your situation.

A “Walk Over Winner” (player retires/resigns/concedes before a match) and matches which do not complete the first set are graded no action. Any match concluding after the first set is completed will be graded with the advancing player as the winner. (This rules applies to wagers posted on Sportsbook Main ONLY.)
A “Walk Over Winner” (player retires/resigns/concedes before a match) and matches where the advancing player does not win the required 3 or 5 sets will be graded no action. Any match concluding before or after the first set is completed will be graded no action. (This rule applies to Prematch Ultra, Live Betting Ultra, and Live Betting Extra.)

Personally prefer Bookmaker rules. Have lost countless of bets with 1st set completed rule. Doesn't take into account; if player who retires won that 1st set.
And there was a dude who had a reputation of tanking 1st set hard (whilst being a fav) then pulling off a miraculous comeback. He'd throw off lines hard on Pinny & betfair. Hence the rules... Can't recall the name

Any live bets made at 5D are cancelled if there's a retirement. I got bailed out because I had Rafa at some really high juice after he won the 1st set. He had been 36-2 in Grand Slams vs top 10 players when winning the 1st set.

Only the 2nd time in his career that he retired in a Slam. Other time before was 2010 Aussie Open vs Murray.
