#2I want a book giving odds on Stanton and Judge to break the 1961 yanks combo of Maris&Mantle 115 combined HR's

#8amazing how quick the Yanks went from bottom farm system to top of the line with prospects busting into the majors with full mvp like boners
they made some really savy deals to get young talent at trading deadlines and now they can indulge their former ego add a huge mercenaryComment -

#10Yanks could get Stanton and be responsible, getting under the luxury tax for payroll for 2018 if the deal is worked the right way
Marlins don't want albatross looming over their head until 2029
they might take on some contract heft for the short term (Ellsbury? Castro?)
Yanks get to take advantage of their window of having alot of controlled CHEAP young talent that is a playoff team and Add a top talent to put them over the top.
they need to win in the next 2-4 years before all their youth are getting big ARB numbers and/or hitting FA marketComment -

#25I hope he breaks down!! Sports are supposed to be entertaining and when too much talent is possessed by only 3 teams or so then its not competitive for everyone else? Yes...the Patriots have won 5 SBs, but every one of those was very close. Golden State demolished Cleveland easily last year....very boring. If their health holds up then its the Yankees, Houston, LA, or the Cubs. Nobody else is even close?Comment -

If that's it, that's phucked up
Jeter is rigging the game-Derek "Cheater" Jeter
Keep him out of the HOF for this bullshit
Realistacally, if its a salary dump, you get Aaron Judge
a mediocre overpaid infielder and two crummy prospects does not equal an MVP with 50+bombs
Manfred needs to step up and call out collusionComment -

thats why I call collusion
Dodgers have a lot of talent they can part ways with for Stanton, and still be contenders
Dodgers love to wheel and deal and work with prospects
Yankees don't have shit, other than Judge-and the Marlins didn't even get him? really?Comment -

#29I was just a kid but in 1977, the baseball commissioner Bowie Kuhn blocked a trade involving top pitcher Vida Blue to the Reds. The Reds won the WS in 75 and 76 and were loaded with future HOFers. The 76 Reds swept the playoffs....only team ever to do that! Oakland was dumping salaries (like Fla), but it was going to screw up the competitiveness so it was blocked. Stanton, Judge, Sanchez, all those big $ relievers, and an unlimited budget? Thats bs....just like they bought the WS when Arod finally got one.Comment -

#30It's not Jeter. Jeter owns 4 percent of the team. Jeter is a lackey who was brought on to be the face of the ownership. The real guy making these kind of decision is Bruce Sherman. He is a known for gutting companies for profits. He just brought Jeter into his billionaire club so he could take the blame for decisions like this.
A 77 win team gave up the NL MVP for an average MLB player and two low grade prospects. One of them being the second best prospect the astros traded for Brian McCann. That's right, second best prospect for a end of his career catcher turned in to an NL MVP.
The ownership isn't trying to rebuild.Comment -
