To be fair, doesn't the disproportionate crime stats have just a little to do with this too? A group making up just 1/5 of another group committing nearly the same amount of violent crime seems surreal to me.

I found it out first hand when I allowed a gal to stay with me and was informed how veterans shouldn't get anything and why are they so special. I saw it firsthand 3 years ago as I sat through a briefing WHILE still in the military about a soldier that committed a crime and the public shaming of him by an auditorium of uniforms. The truth is the brother in uniform had issues and due to a lack of true leadership and getting him help they instead chose to use him as an example. Look at the comments from some on this board, it's why I don't like "thank you for service" or taking any kind of bs military discounts because i can see the truth and that is people don't give a shit. Do not send your sons or daughters to fight for this country ever. And for the record I was on the front lines where there isn't a black to be found. They join the military to learn tactics to take back to the streets but they sure as hell don't join the front lines where warriors are.
