It just seems the players are biting the hand that feeds them. And before long it could be the fans that protest. And that would bring every player to their knee.
President Trump tells NFL owners something.

#325It's just pathetic I wasn't like this for Obama... I'm Canadian so my opinion is honestly redundant, but I supported Obama his first term, once I realized the script that was being played out I went for Ron Paul (during Obama's 2nd Term/Election) who was in my opinion the Republican Bernie Sanders. This round about it wasn't even close, it was such a shit show. Best thing to witness as a young adult male (mid twenties). When Trump had no support and was literally at or near the bottom I called out VICTORY with even last drop of blood in my body, I just wish I was ballsy enough to bet on it and trust my gut. Obama's second term was honestly the only time I've been wrong in my life elections wise for USA/CAN, but clearly I was just way too naive. Voted for/knew Trudeau was going to win (sorry, not sorry). It was honestly the greatest assist Canada could have given yall.Comment -

#335How is kneeling, sitting, praying, what have you during an anthem disrespectful? How is being silent and still taking a shot? Where did you get that from? Did you make that up? Is it a law? Is that in our US constitution? I'll help you. It is not. I guess a better question should be Why Do You Stand? Most people don't even have a clue why they stand. Let's take a poll and ask people should they put their hands over their hearts and most American's would get it wrong. Ask them why they should stand and 90% have no clue. People are sheep. They do what the masses do. Very rarely do people think for themselves.Originally posted by RyermkdBlowing it way out of the proportion, we take that shit even more seriously north of the border although we "act nonchalant"

Then let's talk about the words of the anthem. How many people even know the verses? How many people know the man that wrote it? Do you think a black person might have issue with the following???
A home and a Country should leave us no more?
Their blood has wash’d out their foul footstep’s pollution.
No refuge could save the hireling and slave
From the terror of flight or the gloom of the grave,
I'm not going to even explain this verse but anyone that wants to educate themselves can research it themselves. I'm not offended if they don't stand. I'm more offended that people want to make them stand. How un American is that?Comment -

#340I should say that in no way am I blaming Trump. But, people here are not seeing the money. A few people on the south side got like $400 each from the Red Cross for flooding but no one knows how/why they got it. Much more people got denied. What does $400 do? That's a joke. The Red Cross is a joke, always has been. They spend more money on ads than relief efforts. FEMA is broke, so they are denying everyone too. The money is somewhere but no one is seeing it.Comment -

You guys aren't supplying us much any oil. You haven't in years now. Oil Sands is not cheap. It is one of the most expensive. Most majors have pulled out of Oil Sands because it's not profitable. Unfortunately, it has hurt Canada's economy in a lot of places. Lot of layoffs and more to come until oil goes above $75. Unless you find some breakthrough in mining, I wouldn't expect cost to go down. I'd love for oil to get to $100 but I'm not holding my breath.Comment -

#346Wrong again... New technology has allowed for break-even pricing at $40-50 a barrel to give a wide range... it used to be $60-70 years ago, still lower than $75.... oil IMO is headed to that $60-70 range eventually, which means we will be doing just fine... Saudi/Russia can't survive with these prices especially when it was what $35-45 not too long ago... It's all by design... It will bounce back eventually. Will it ever go over $100 anytime soon, that's a whole other ballgame.Originally posted by Mac4LyfeTexans are doers. We don't wait for the government, we act. #347Let me say one thing i did not vote in the last election. So im not a supporter of any party but when it comes to the doctor of common sense always follow the money. The owners do not want the games to be stopped it means no money. There is less than 2000 football players in the NFL. Im pretty sure that college seniors would not be heistant to start for a NFL team. Alot of candian football players would consider coming to the NFL. So yes they can be replaced. So yes if you wanna protest fine if you wanna walk out fine but dont complain because you dont have a paycheck if you walk out. Another thing is I do stand with my black brothers against police brutality and things do need to change. I also do think think it was wrong for the president to call the nfl players s.o.b.'s. It was mean disrespectful hurtful and disgusting. Show some respect Trump. Words are a powerful tool please choose them very wisely Trump. #349Zam - that is your opinion. Many people that have served do not feel like you do. Our country was founded on protests. What if our forefathers agreed with you that it was selfish and dishonorable to disobey the mother land? What if we kept paying taxes to a country that did not represent us. Our constitution was written so that people could be free from oppression because they think differently than you. They should not be afraid to stand or kneel for their beliefs. That was why we have a constitution. The anthem is religious to you. It is not to others. The anthem isn't even in the constitution. When did it become law? It was later written into a flag code. It says that people "Should". But people are not REQUIRED. There is also no penalties because its not law. The anthem is really a religious ceremony. The bible says that you should not worship anyone but God. Several people do not stand because they think it's a form of idol worship in the bible. That is their choice.Originally posted by zam77Whenever I hear it I just feel as though I am being given a unique opportunity to share and feel the pain, the suffering, the fight, the glory, and overall just the difficult road our brave warriors have gone down for the freedom of Amercias people. Praying to a flag and a song that some guy wrote does not make anyone better than someone else. It is your choice, just like it is there's. I will defend your choice, just like I defend their choice. But to belittle people over their choices is wrong. To call them un American is wrong. To think they don't love their country anymore than you or I is wrong. Now if you don't want to buy their product. That is perfectly up to you as well.Comment -
