I'm serious about not touching my crypto holdings for a month. No tweaking. No new purchases. If something goes ballistic and is screaming to sell, I'll let it ride. I'll take a reading today, January 10 and report back on February 10. Maybe we can all learn something....besides, I got some interior painting to do....Comment -

#5191Hey guys, just wanted to come in and thank everyone in this thread for their insight and opinions. I have been lurking for awhile and just invested in some alt coins yesterday. Have most in XLM and then ADA and threw a bit in TRON.
Are people still bullish on XLM? All ive read for the past couple months is how everyone loves this coin and then nothing really about it in this thread (at least that ive seen).
Also, anyone have any opinions on UNIFY? See a lot of people liking this coin and the more I research about it the more I like it.
Thanks for any input you may have!Comment -

#5193I'm looking thru my options for where to have SBR send my BTP contest winnings(bitcoins).
1. If I want to deposit the bitcoins in a Sportsbook, I should have SBR send to my Blockchain.info acct.
This would be the only reason to have bitcoins sent to blockchain.info. Because if I want conversion to cash and withdrawal to personal bank it has to be done via an Exchange, right?
2. If I want to invest in other cryptocurrencies I should have SBR send directly to an Exchange acct I have like Binance or Kucoin.
From the Exchanges, like Binance or Kucoin, if I don't invest all that SBR sends I can convert to cash and withdraw to personal bank, right?
3. Are there fees charged everytime one transfers from Wallet to Exchange, Exhange to Wallet, Exchange to Bank, Bank to Exchange?
4. I opened accts at blockchain, binance, & kucoin in anticipation of what I might possibly do with BTP winnings. I have yet to actually use these accts or be involved with bitcoin.
5. I've read much negativity about Coinbase(wallet + exchange) due to slowness, and the recent security breach at Electrum(software wallet) so they have been pushed futher down list of available options.
Feedback from you Crptocurrencie aficionados would be appreciatedComment -

2. Yes to all but to get cash get to your bank, Coinbase is probably the easy way to go despite the stories out there. Someone else might have a better idea for cashing out.... Coinbase's sister site GDAX, might be better for a withdraw. If you have a Coinbase acct, you have a GDAX account.
3. Yes, fees abound especially with BTC. Sometimes small, sometimes large and sometimes there's no choice but to pay it.
4. Very good. I think you'll probably have to add Coinbase. Again, someone else might have a better idea for the USD connection.
5. Well, you have wallets at all the exchanges. Keeping your crypto at the exchange is not a "best practice" but we all do it. Blockchain.info is solely a wallet though they do allow you to exchange these three: BTC, ETH and BCH.
Congrats on the win!Last edited by Arky; 01-10-18, 03:47 PM.Comment -

#5205TRON guilty of plagiarism. https://www.inverse.com/article/4005...iarism-scandal
I'm not a Tron evangelists and I'm not in love with any of these coins. I have the majority of my coins in BTC and ETH. The rest I play with. I'm in a shit load of coins (at least 30). My overall opinion is that the majority of these coins are going to go up this year. You don't have to be smart. If you don't like a coin, don't buy it because there's many more you can get. I'm just spreading my wings as I think "the rising tide will lift all boats". I have coins that do nothing. I have coins that I don't have a clue what they do too. Hell, most people don't know what the hell BTC does. I'm not trying to out think the room. I do think Ripple and Tron specifically are going to go up exponentially in the near term. My charts tells me ripple at $5 and Tron at $0.60. We can revisit this later but I did mention BTC at $10k somewhere in this forum and ETH at $1,500.
Now if someone can tell us where the resistance levels are for each coin, we'd all be rich.Comment -

None of that means shit right now. No one has a crystal ball. Crypto is option trading on steroids. The swings are bigger and faster. It's not for the faint of heart. You can double your account in a few hours only to lose 2/3rd the day later. I don't recommend anyone to invest their kids college fund or this months rent. Use what you can afford to lose then don't sweat it. Fear and impatience are the 2 worst emotions in investing.Comment -

#5207I've been in crytpo for 3 years and I have not made a million YET. I kick myself today for not powering up in the beginning. The guy who introduced me to BTC was already a multi-multi millionaire. He's made at least 8 figures in BTC alone. I sold 10 BTC's for $30/each, just to see how it worked like a dummy. I bought LTC for $2 and ETH for $5. I just didn't buy enough because I was heavily invested in stocks. My gambling budget was more than my crypto budget back then. What a terrible mistake. You live and learn.Comment -

#5209Hey guys. I've been reading this thread this past few months and finally decided to get into this crypto trading business 2 weeks ago. Last week, I deposited $2,500 via GDAX, then transferred over to BINANCE to buy these alt coins and below is my portfolio:
- $800 into ETH
- $500 into ADA
- $500 into XRP
- $300 into NEO
- $200 into XVG
- $200 into IOTA
So far, I've been hollering around $400 profit off that $2.5K investment. Today, I decided to put another $1K into ETH as I've heard and read great things about ETH. Even though most of crypto market has been in the red the past few days, NEO and ETH have been doing pretty good and balancing out the losses on the other coins. I think my current portfolio diversification is alright, but am planning to daytrade a little bit using $500. In any case, just wanted to share this with you. Read it, skim through it, or just ignore it.
Let's make some $$$!
I'd be interested in knowing more about your day trading. Do you have a system for setting your high/low levels? Are you looking at resistance levels?Comment -

#5212The S&P did 28% last year. My 401k increased 63% last year. My other portfolio did 210% (I shit you not). Look up the thread here where I laid out the stocks to select last year. It's all documented.

Faint-heartedness, patience, fear, panic-ing, relaxing, etc. all have nothing to do with being disappointed in the performance of a coin. I still own the coin. Gonna see what happens - time will tell, eh?Comment -

#5213This is a very good post. 16% profit in 2 weeks is incredible in any other market but Crypto. I like your diversification. I think you should eventually role profits up into BTC and ETH. Those, especially ETH can be a buffer against high swings. I also think they both have a lot more room to run. All these altcoins have to use BTC or ETH as a pair in most cases. Take your other profits and buy other coins, take a flyer on some of the smaller ones. Who knows at this point.

#5214Very newbie question here, but is it safe to leave the money in Binance? I see people talking about moving money to their wallet but im still unsure how all this works. Basically I just opened my account two days ago. Deposited into my coinbase, then to gdax, and then to binance to lessen the fees. Now I have money in a few alt coins. I leave it in binance until im ready to maybe sell them off and withdraw, correct?
Not really sure why people transfer from binance to digital wallet instead of just moving it back to usd and into banking account?
Sorry, I know this is a really newbie question and any help would be greatly appreciatedComment -
