I think some of you that have been around a bit have got months of growth to support you during these red times. For someone such as my myself who has been in this for less than a month, "Black Monday Morning" followed by "Black Tuesday Night" has been particularly brutal. No, not selling anything off just yet (Why let go of money-makers? Why sell during a dip?). Some of us had to buy in a little higher to get in the game.....
At Binance, I have around 25 favorites I like to keep track of. Don't own them all, but currently only 4 are in the green. I own one of these greenies and I picked it up yesterday. That leaves a lot of red.
Everything else I own is slumping, even some of the ones I thought were slump-proof. Leading the pack is TRX (TRON) which should be up for the Stinker of the Month award. Eheh. Sure, it was up 7,233% at one point and gave back a third. Most people only see the give back and for some reason forget all about the rise. Stocks do the same thing just not in these large swings in a matter of days/weeks. I've got a crypto account that was $10k then $80k now $40k. This shit is not for the faint of heart.Comment -

Right after I bought, it started slumping and it's future looks bleak. I think you're going to see sell-offs every time it nudges up a bit..... It's pretty dang smelly right now... Perhaps some sort of announcement can turn it around. It has phenomenal volumes so apparently a lot of people believe in it. Have you ever invested in stocks? You're just getting involved in crypto. This is not like gambling where you stroll to the ticket window when UGA covered Monday night. Investments take time. Today is the 10th of January and you've already called it the stinker of the month. The entire crypto world is down for the year. The year is a grand total of 10 days. My goodness... RELAX
I bought a bunch of Ripple at $0.28. It went to $0.35, then down to $0.17, sat at $0.22 for what seemed to be forever, then $0.20 forever. Finally, it popped to $4 and is down to $2 and people have lost their minds. XRP is horrible, it's gone to shit, etc. Come on man.
My suggestion... Invest what you can. Buy the dips when you can and relax. Most people are not good enough to day trade this. Most people aren't good enough to slip into one coin then out to another. Find a few coins that you like and keep investing/buying the dips. Don't even worry about the price, just buy the dips. Pick your head up a year from now and see where you're at. I think Ripple is at least $5 when it gets to CB, so $2 looks good to me. I add a little whenever I can. If it goes to $1 that just means I can buy twice as much as when it was $2.

I believe in Ripple and I think XRP will recover but it sure makes your stomach turn when you see your up $80k in two weeks and that value has been halved in maybe 5 days after reaching it's high.Have you ever invested in stocks? I have stocks. Ya know, as I ease into retirement I didn't want to become one of those guys who sit at the computer all day shuffling around stocks just so I can high-five the dog for a $20 score at the end of the day. If that's your thing, more power to ya. I have my loot in a managed account that kicks out about 12-15% annually. That's good enough for me.
This is just a hobby right now but I've noticed I'm turning into a version of the above day-trader. I think what I will do is hold what I got and not touch anything for a solid month. I got the dicipline to do this - push away from the computer and not sweat the small stuff. Doesn't mean I won't check in every now and then....Comment -

The Chinese government is issuing decrees and mandates to slow down and ultimately phase out btc mining. What do you think those data towers or buildings are going to do? Shut down and call it a day? Fukk no, they're just goin to switch to mining another coin
All of these coupled together means that there is most likely going to be a sht ton of action on these alt coins

Hey guys. I've been reading this thread this past few months and finally decided to get into this crypto trading business 2 weeks ago. Last week, I deposited $2,500 via GDAX, then transferred over to BINANCE to buy these alt coins and below is my portfolio:
- $800 into ETH
- $500 into ADA
- $500 into XRP
- $300 into NEO
- $200 into XVG
- $200 into IOTA
So far, I've been hollering around $400 profit off that $2.5K investment. Today, I decided to put another $1K into ETH as I've heard and read great things about ETH. Even though most of crypto market has been in the red the past few days, NEO and ETH have been doing pretty good and balancing out the losses on the other coins. I think my current portfolio diversification is alright, but am planning to daytrade a little bit using $500. In any case, just wanted to share this with you. Read it, skim through it, or just ignore it.
