#15Told you guys Monk would go off. Honestly, Monk and Ball are the only two college players who I can say for certain are going to be very good NBA players.
The problem for UCLA is that Fox, Monk, Briscoe >>> than the collective sum of Ball, Leaf, Hamilton, Alford, Welsh

#24If Indiana tries to get Alford as their coach I'll laugh. Crean isn't very good, but I'd probably prefer him.
Alford's team is all talent. No coaching on offense and they play no defense.Comment -

#27Monk is better built than Fox. Twenty more natural pounds, plus a smoother shot. I'm surprised Fox is projected to go Top 5 while Monk is only Top 10. That should be flipped. Fox definitely doesn't look as explosive as Wall was at the same age. I see UCLA playing the same swiss cheese defense that got them into so many wacky shootouts in the Pac-12, not Fox exploding to the rim at will like Wall could do.Comment -

Alford is definitely better than Crean. He built good teams everywhere he went, whereas Crean had basically two very good teams at Marquette in the Wade/Diener years and one good team at Indiana that he couldn't get past the Sweet Sixteen with two Top 5 NBA draft picks playing for him.Comment -

I just think it would be a big mistake to go for Alford after all those years with Crean. If you want to build that program, go get someone like Archie Miller of Chris Mack. Alford does nothing on the sidelines. Give him some talent and maybe he can get you to the second weekend. If you don't have talent, you aren't going anywhere.Comment -

#32I've seen Fox since HS (school down the street from me) and I've seen him play at UK for most of the year. He is just as explosive if not more than Wall was at this same point. He's played against some very good teams this year and damn good defensive teams in UF and USC. He's been the one clutch guy all year when Monk went into slumps. Monk is no joke either and can really light it up and unstoppable when he gets hot but I'd take Fox if I had a draft choice.Monk is better built than Fox. #34I think they're pretty comparable. Alford wasn't all that at New Mexico. Never even reached a Sweet 16. I remember going to San Jose for the tourney and watched my UW Huskies beat down his Lobos by like 20. Lobos were a 3 seed and UW was an 11. Going from Crean to Alford is a lateral move. Different names, but basically the same coach.Alford is definitely better than Crean.
