I was 10. I remember it.

1980 was such a great year. All kinds of cool shit going on. The great Ronald Reagan became our President and fixed the mess the Dems had created. It was morning in America.

That was prob the second best time in America. Only runner up to NOW. God speed President Trump!!

Just an incredible ride they had.

Remember not too long ago when everyone agreed that Alabama would have no chance to beat the Browns? Well, the Miracle on Ice was the equivalent of Alabama (or Clemson) beating the Patriots! USA was a bunch of college kids and the USSR was a professional team that beat NHL teams in some exhibition games.

the russian 1980 olympic hockey team was an all star team. who knows how many games they played together. even if they beat some nhl teams they would have gotten shellacked by an NHL all star team. huge difference. to call them a great professional team is a fallacy. it was an upset no doubt. but the greatest upset in sports history, extremely doubtful. this was the 2nd time they lost to u.s. college players (1960)
