Anyone familiar with running this type of shop? Several for sake in my city. Seem to have loyal following, many seniors playing 8 line machines. Wondering what true margin is for operator.

#17These are senior "arcades" operating openly in strip malls. Small stakes 8 line slots. There are 2 for sale in my city, reopened after some legislation in 2013 was revamped to modify how they pay out.
I actually called local authorities to inquire, they flat out told me that it's not a high priority for them. 8 line dealer set up both shops, selling them as franchises basically. They're always packed, 80+ players at a time, each dumping about $20/ hr into the machines.
But yes, technically it's still illegal on the books. Listed for $135k for nearly 100 machines. IDK, if you got a joint like this for half that, $70k...would it pay for itself fast enough to offset the risk of closing? Noone here has operated a joint like that? What is the rate of play that you need if your machines are set at 95% payout or 90% payout?Comment -

#19Just make an internet cafe with really cheap hourly rates. Then give them accounts at at your PPH shop and take cash deposits and transfer into the account to let them lose it all on sports/casino. Nothing more noble than taking money from degenerate seniors.Comment -

#26As a business owner myself, I can tell you nobody sells a business that is highly profitable and easy to run. There is a reason why, find that reason. If they tell you it's family related or they are moving, that is a line of bullshit. Ask to look at their books so you can find out how they concluded what their company is worth. If they won't do that, walk away.Comment -

#27Yeah, not worth it.
Ask jj how to start up a smoke/porn shop. Sell paraphernalia to the stoners. Some videos and gear to the couples, and then whatever they do in the backroom for the weirdos.Comment -

#31and what won't be on the books are the payments the owners have to make to the cops to keep them from shutting you down for all the criminal activity goin' on inside those slippery, used-condom covered floors of the booths..... (lewd/lacivious behavior, indecent exposure, sodomy, etc.).... nor will the show the payments to whatever wise guys whos turf the shop is on.....
if you do take the plunge, hire some illegal aliens to clean the shit up off the floors/screens of the booths, and an older asian guy you can trust (or easily dispose of if he tries to steal from you) to run it.....
ps.... always wear shoes with good soles on them, so you don't run a disgarded HIV-tainted heroin needed into your foot, or a shard of glass from a broken meth pipe.....Comment -
