True statement. This after I just did a writeup, lol. Truth is, this is a very hard game. Even math guys get beat up because they lack understanding that things change during the course of even months and they don't adjust.

I'm what I call a "Now" handicapper. In other words, I don't like to look at trends for the simple fact that most you see have a very small sample size and the other reason is things change. I want to know what is going on "right now". That gives me the ability to come up with my own numbers and be comfortable. It really is old school. I've used sabre numbers a few years back and the problem with those is the books started using them also, which leaves the player at a disadvantage. So with all the math geeks coming in with their sabre numbers, which you even see on broadcast's on t.v now, I have gone back to tracking what the big guys are doing, line movements, injuries, scheduling quirks and all the other old school stuff. It's been working great the last year or so.

So the key is the player must always adjust. When the book zigs, I zag. It's a mind game, lol
