Barre chords are all you need man, many good songs are only played with 2-4 open chords which is even easier. If you want to solo, you can get by with just pentatonic. Many of the most successful musicians in the world (U2, Beck, Coldplay) will tell you they're not even that good - they just give it their all every time because people reacting pumps them up. As Bono once said "3 chords and the truth".

When I rock out it's old school KOL/Rattle and Hum era U2 and stuff like that which is the exact opposite of sucking but I can see why you would say that. Yes I'm playing with a thin one right now because I'm learning a lot of new material and a new guitar.
I love that song, it's simple and funny which is good sometimes. Those barre chords in Red Morning Light, etc. being played at such a torrid pace start to hurt after awhile and it's good to relax a little. Obviously the man who wrote that, Beck, has grown tremendously as a musician since then but he still plays and appreciate his old stuff.
You do sound like you've been at it awhile though and are probably really good, much better than me.

If you really want to learn guitar, pick up a classical guitar, take a few lessons, and just play.
Barre chords could be the worst advice I've ever heard.
My personal preference for anyone that is serious ablut playing is to immerse yoursef in musical theory, know your circle of fifths and minors for chord progressions, know which notes make up which chords, know where notes are on the fret board. Learn timing and rhythm, learn strum patterns, finger picking
Playing guitar is easy and guitar players tend to be the worst musicians out there. Very few can read music beyond a basic level. If you want to do it right and do it well, just focus on classical and you'll be light years ahead of 99.9% of sbr guitarist within 6 monthsComment -
Depends what you're looking to do. Your advice is not awful, but if someone wants to rock out quickly I outlined a good way to do that.

It does happen to me because I am attractive but I have told you that I don't like your attention yet you still give it to me. That is not normal unless you have motives that you're hiding.
