Shit yeah, always something new to learn. I was learning abit about Crocodiles the other day, pretty fascinating actually, their meant to be over 200 million years old,can you imagine, unreal, they lived through the extinction of the Dinosaurs.

Medieval Warfare is pretty interesting, the Vikings use to have these soldiers called Berserkers, crazy mother f@ckers.

Was just going to say Vikings, crazy story alright.

French Revolution and the Crusades I find fascinating.

From New Zealand I enjoyed reading about the land wars and the 81 Springbok tour of New Zealand (Rugby jocks v anti apartheid). Oh and early Antarctica exploration those guys were tough as nails.

Was a Russian history major in college. I love all types of history but the 1900-1920s in Russia really intrigued me. My tv stays on the history channel. My son is picking up my habits which is a good thing I hope. He could tell you almost anything about nazi Germany when he was 8 and now at 13 his teacher is amazed by his history knowledge. I think I got into history in college because I hated math so much. Not much of a future in that degee but I can win at jeopardy

Abraham Lincoln was a bisexual crypto-jewish lawyer who murdered over 700,000
                  Americans.
btw "crypto-jew" means that you have "Jewish" blood in your family.
this is not necessarily to be mistaken with ancient Israelite blood.

I love history. 19th and 20th Century American history is my favorite.

I was born and went to elementary school in Maryland. So much Civil War history there that I hated it as a kid. I remember when Ken Burns' Civil War documentary cam out, my mom made me watch it and I would have rather watched the Simpsons or The Cosby Show.

I liken Civil War history to asparagus, because I hated both as a kid but LOVE them now.

Another likely reason I love it so much now is because I moved to the midwest, where there is very little of the kind of history I grew up with.

I have a book idea that I spent about a year and a half researching for, but never got off the ground. Having 4 kids will do that to you.

Lastly, Flashmo, there is hardly any evidence to support the idea that Lincoln was gay. Just a couple assholes who wrote books that they knew would sell because of the provocative nature of their premise.

The South was ready to give up slavery. Indistrialization was
starting, the cotton gin was on its way, and Jefferson Davis
promised Pope Pius IX that the Confederacy would end slavery.
None of this mattered to the Feds. Feds just want power.

went to school to be a college professor so I Took an array of history. The Wars are usually the ones that get the most attention. African gets the least but it's pretty intersting. I remember taking women's history to be in a class with a bunch of girls. Success....3 out of 50 were dudes.

Now I watch Nat Geo & History channel when I can and try to watch their shows not related to Alaska...which isn't many anymore

I still remember the worst sleep I ever got was camping at the Battle of Shiloh, was apparently sleeping on a small tree root coming out of the ground. Fun Boy Scout trip, epic battle there with something I remember called the river of blood.

one of my professors basically wrote most of the modern texts on African history. That dude was so boring I had to take his class 2x. Only class I ever failed in my life. The only interesting thing was the Ebola outbreak in the 70s.

Links about the friendship between the Confederacy and the RCC:
