#78After 20 years service at various financial concerns in NYC I can tell you this: no one ever gets excited about a business trip to Cleveland. Ever.
I do believe it could be a nice place to raise a family.
But Miami? You plan vacations around business trips there. I still see accounts in Miami/South Fla and have world class golf or fishing lined up. The restaurants are banging and night life is out of control, if that's your thing.
Miami rules. No one should ever compare these two places.Comment -

I live on the beach not with my parents. ..have a 2 /2 on the corner of 14th and Bay .. So you can kiss my ass.. Feel free to come down here I will show your punk ass around.
I will even buy you a table with a few bottles at a nightclub.. Don't worry I am not Latin and I won't take you to a Latin club.
Sorry you never met any real dimes down here. My best girlfriend was in playboy back in 05.. my last intern was probably 10.5 if that is even possible..
It sounds like your life just really sucks. It sounds like you couldn't make it down here..
So you packed up and went somewhere where life was "easier" for losers like you.
Not really sure why you are attacking me.. you asked me for shit to do .. so I told you..
But the truth is.. my life is great.. I have an awesome career.. I have the keys to this city.. and I do whatever I want around here.
Don't believe me.. come down.. I don't penetrate around..Comment -

Funny that the RNC is in Cleveland this year. Cleveland was also voted the #2 family destination as well.
Like I said before it depends on what you're in to. You want the worst city to live in... Miami is your thing. Do your research.Comment -

#89I was just in Miami 2 weeks ago. I have several properties in South Florida. I've had beachfront all over the US. Been there, done that. I can most likely take you around your own city. I can certainly take you all over the Caribbean. I'm pretty confident I can compare bank accounts and dick size and bury you on both counts. I'm not attacking you but it's very clear that you've never been out of Florida much and you obviously have never been to Cleveland. Your Miami list is not very impressive but I didn't expect it to be because I know Miami. The entire state of Florida is fukked up. Highest drop out rates in the country, rampant poverty, too many homeless people and a bunch of folks with mental illnesses. There's too many broke ass people in Florida too and those that think they have money really don't have much. I don't even consider South Florida the US. It doesn't feel like the US and you are so far away from anything. Try going to Atlanta, DC, NY, Chicago, LA, etc., from Miami it feels like you're coming from Europe. Too far out of the way. South Florida is some of the worst people with all the Northern Yankees that think everyone should kiss their asses and all the international flavor that come over just to have their babies, so they can become citizens. Miami is a good place to visit but it gets old real quick and is one of the worst places to live like that article mentioned. You are obviously closed minded so good for your.
Been on a plane once a month so far this entire year.. every time for enjoyment
but yeah.. I don't leave Miami much.. I just moved back 4 years ago for work ..
And yes I been to Cleveland.. Also been to Cincy.. And I have sat in the "horseshoe" in columbus..Comment -

#92KMarino has an enlightened insight into the current
opportunities available to the open-minded visitor to greater Miami.
Thank you.
Seems Cleveland has a lingering inferiority complex from decades of being
the laughing stock of the U.S.
You have to be desperate to compare Cleveland to Miami.

#95I lived in Miami for several years and while it's a nice place to visit, I absolutely hated the place. NOTHING to do besides go to the beach or the mall. The hotels outside of South Beach are absolutely awful. Never stay in a hotel near the airport. Florida sucks as far as quality jobs. Too many broke and homeless people. The weirdest shit comes out of Florida. The only down to earth people are the transients on vacation. The locals are horrible.
I'll ask you what I ask others who seem to think Miami is a better place to live than Cleveland. Please give me 10 things to do while in Miami?Comment -

#96That heat is the price you pay for living near the gulf stream , the south gets ton of humidity and thunderstorms but much warmer sea temps than anywhere else in the country. You can get humid summers up north with urban heat island effect as well as freezing winter, the reason millions of people have moved to florida and georgia is the warmer weather and to escape the shoveling driveways in the morning and scraping windshields at 6 am. the golf courses are open year round in georgia and florida.
atlanta has a much higher paying job market than alot of florida .delta, home depot, UPS, coca cola ,mercedes, porsche, suntrust etc all have their headquarters there, very high median income, Florida would be heaven if you have a good paying job but its really tough finding a high paying job.
Rick scott always touts his job growth but they arent very high paying jobs, tons of hospitality and retail jobs catering to retirees. miami, tampa, orlando all have some of lowest median wages in the country ,worse than milwaukee and detroit , 40% of the jobs in orlando pay less than 25,000

#104If you think Cleveland is better than that place must suck. Although I have won 3 trips there and got propositioned by a pro in front of my mother. Mac I had season tickets to bungals for 15 years that I would of gave you during brown season. My ticks were section 128 row 30 seats 16-19. They were great seats.
Once again, it depends on your definition of BETTER. I think Cleveland has a lot more things going for it then the tourist beach, mall, strip joint life of Miami. Miami is a tourist town, a transient town, take away the Beach and it's really an ugly city. If you're single with a lot of money, Miami is the better place. If you're like 99% of normal society and you plan on living their and raising a family, Miami is a horrible choice. Once the vacation wears off, there's really not a lot to do in Miami (all of Florida for that matter).
Now, I hate snow, which is a huge reason I do not live in Cleveland. That snow is a deal breaker for me. But, if you take away the winter, Cleveland is a great place to live in the fall, spring and summer.Comment -
