In FL when we do background checks, we use the standard Federal form 4473 and its the FDLE not the FBI that does the background check, if a person has a criminal record it will pop up at FDLE from FBI records, but that doesnt mean they cant buy a gun, it will depend on what the crime was and how long ago it was committed. There is no record on the 4473 form of what kind of gun is being purchased, its either a handgun or a long gun, we just check a box on the form, serial numbers are required. The Federal govt has no clue as to what is bought. Him having a class G license would have made it possible to not have to wait the the three days waiting period on handguns, there is no waiting period on long guns in FL.

For the guy who said something about filing down the magazine to make it full auto, you should probably leave the working of guns to those of us that understand how they work. An AR 15 would have to have the Sear replaced in the lower reciever to make it full auto, and to buy one of those auto sears you will have to have the ATF approve it and that will take at least 6 months if you are even approved, you also give up your 4th amendment rights regarding search and seizure by owning anything classified as class 3 by the ATF

The remaining holes come easy, just drill out the remaining trigger group holes. Do not drill out the hole directly above the selector lever unless you are going to be using a GI auto sear. UPDATE: Due to legal considerations, the auto sear hole will not be included on the jigs. Jigs may be modified for this, but only by the end user. The exact location of this pin hole is not on regular AR15 blueprints as it is limited to full auto use and not needed on legal semi-auto guns. The location was set by reverse engineering the location on a GI lower. It may not be perfect to spec, but it should work. There are disputes over whether the auto sear pin should be located either 1/8" or 5/32" below the top plane of the lower but it should be directly centered above the selector hole. A gunsmith familiar with the operation of the auto sear will know how to make adjustments to the shape of the sear if they are needed. This modification is also not to be done in conjunction with a drop-in sear or lightning link, as both use a different system for achieving full auto. The Tannery lowers are also not fully compatible with M16 internals without modifying the trigger group well of the gun. Blueprints and instructions for this modification are not available from me or this website, but can be found elsewhere with diligent searching. Don't expect answers to emails about "how do I make an M16" or more clarification on using the jig to make an M16 lower.

Even though I'm not in favor of completely banning all guns in the US that gun ban would certainly reduce lethal shooting crimes over time that's for sure.. Automatic weapons certainly need to be banned in the US period.. They serve no practical purpose in society. They do the most damage to innocent civilians in drive byes or club shootings like this. I live in California and we have some of the strictest gun laws in the Country.. Very hard to get an AK or AR here, and if you are caught with one you are doing hard time..

I also posted that you have to change the sear to make it full auto, again work on your reading. I have been in the weapons business LEGALLY for decades and your little copy and paste job about M 16s is just that a copy and paste job you personally couldnt do the job. Then in another post you listed all the guns you say you fired in the military, well I was there myself, so what the F is a M 15? You are exactly right. If a bunch of people would of bum rushed him than wouldn't be as much damage. If you remember the incident at Luby's in Killeen ,Texas. Guy was killing people and 4 guys rushed him. He got 2 but the damage wasn't as bad as it could of been.
