One of my friends told me I should talk to one, since I gamble a lot.
I talked to one, and he gave me his card.
I guess I don't need one.
I get plenty of discounts for using my players card on everything.
I don't like staying at the hotel, because I like my own bed better.
My drinks are already free.
Idk, is their anything I don't know, that I should know?

I have a host at my regular casino in LA. Only real advantage is that she can help my friends who aren't on the upper tiers to get free rooms and such when we take group trips over there. Also saves me the hassle of booking rooms, shows, dinner, etc...I just text her.
I still tip her $100 each trip to the casino to keep her happy.
But yeah, if you play enough, they will call you and email you to let you know when you get a host.

I play baccarat. spread $100-400 a hand. Had days winning and losing 5 figures. I have never tipped my host. Never Ever.
Am i an asshole? I didnt think it was a normal thing to do. Besides what are they really doing for you? making a phone call or two or looking something up on their computer.

The only reason I tip her is because sometimes I go 2-3 months without going to the casino since it's a 3 hour drive and I want to make sure I'm getting all the perks I've had.
They aren't supposed to accept tips since they can be considered bribes. The one I have is a little different tho lol.

Take care of your host. Those fuckers can get you mad free shit.
Free rooms, limo shuttle from airport, pay for your airfare, room upgrades, tickets to sporting events fights or shows, hook ups to get the best tables at the club. The list goes on and on. These guys can be very generous so why not take care of them.

If you want to be fed a steady stream of free beer, youd better be tipping the chick getting it for you.

A host can get you a lot of things you wouldn't be able to get yourself without a lot of leg work. Most people visit a casino to get away and relax. Why would you want to have to take care of shit and make arrangements when somebody else can do it for you? Find a host and tell them what you are looking for, if they can do it, they will.
I use hosts to set up fight and concert tix.

You also rarely have a firm grasp of the english language.
Name 3 restaurants you go to where you don't order from a kid at a counter.

Why would you tip a host in Lake Charles? The only perks in that shit hole is free food. You can get that anywhere. I don't even stay in those rooms anymore. I haven't used a host there in years because it's pretty much local for people in Houston. All my perks are at my house.
Now when I travel, i use a host to make arrangements. But I have very little interaction with them like in the old days. Everything is automated now.

Once my wife and I went on an all-night bender and and proceeded to blow the entire $4k I won playing poker earlier in the day on slots at L'Auberge and the Nugget, both places were blowing our phones up for a week straight, until we finally took the f'n calls and got assigned hosts.....
now use them to get the comps on the nights we actually want to be in the casino, and to get the upgrades on rooms, etc., free buffets, etc., but have very little contact with them once we leave Htown and actually arrive....

I like the VIP lounge at Lauberge, not to mention the free golf, and they will even come and pick me up in the limo in Houston with a little notice.
I probably don't have to tip her. But she's helped me for years and I don't mind.

You can get in the lounge without a host and get free golf as well if you have the points. But, I rather play golf in Houston anyway. I've never asked them to pick me up in a limo though. Seems too restrictive when I want to come and go as I please. I only stop to Lake Charles if I'm on my way to somewhere else. I very rarely ever stay over night anymore. I much rather fly 3 hours to Vegas than try to have a limo drive me to LC. There's direct flights to Nassau from Houston as well. Those are much nicer if you're going for 2 or 3 nights and cost about the same. Although the damn taxes and resort fees at Atlantis is ridiculous.
I've taken the bus from Houston to LC several times as well because I don't have to drive and it's convenient. I can get on the bus at 11pm be in LC at 1:30am and gamble for a few hours and be back in Houston by 9:30am. I can sleep on the bus and I'm ready to go the next day without wasting an entire weekend. If I'm staying the night, I'm most likely going to Vegas.
when i go to the carribean i go with 10k when im in ac i go with between 4-8 k

They're good to have.
I have friends of friends that are hosts and it seems the big thing they can do for you is increase your credit (then make sure you pay the casino when you max out your credit).
Doesn't hurt to have one on your contact list and hit them up every so often. Ask them stuff, like how much you need to play to get upgraded to a suite, stuff like that. Like GnG said, they can get you stuff and do the legwork to do it.
I'm surprised that as a high roller, you don't have a handful in your pocket.

Seeing as you're a local Darryl, it wouldn't seem all that useful. May not hurt to have one around, depending on how much they harass you once you're theirs.

Hey Ralphie, did you ever use one?
My friend was telling me that I should try to get a free steak out of a host. I buy filet Mignon whenever I win at the station sports book. Then I eat steak at her steakhouse. She told me to see if I can work a free steak out of a host

if your not a big player when your at the tables just ask a pit boss if they can pick up dinner for you. if you have been at the tables long enough they can usually give you a voucher to cut your bill down a little bit.

No mention of hosts and getting laid. A bit disappointed.
