Laroche way too full of himself, should've left the punk-ass kid at home or in the stands....

face it adam, your lame ass kid -- who will never be a big leaguer -- annoyed the fuk out of half the team.... YOUR TEAMMATES PUT UP WITH THE CRAP, BUT AS YOU TOOK IT FURTHER AND FURTHER, they finally complained behind your back.

no matter how much that annoying boy of yours hangs out around big leagers, he will never be one.... and he sure seems annoying... hell, just from these lame ass photos of the two of you, I can see how you force-feeding this punk's presence around the clubhouse would annoy everyone!!!

keep the annoying punk out of the way -- clearly the right call.... glad it cost your dumbass $15M and hurt the CrimeSox

LaRoche has values and principles unlike many of the posters here. Guy has more money that he will ever need. A child needs a good father like LaRoche.

letting your kid do whatever they want is not being a parent, that is called being a friend.

Can't wait until LaRoche runs out of cash, gets a real job and finds out that most places don't let you bring your family to work.

Disagree; he was teaching the little punk that he was "entitled".... and that the rules will be either made for him or can be bent by him.... Laroche is a big brat, who didn't get his way so he quit..... that's the lesson he taught his bratty kid as well..... "IF YOU DON'T GET YOUR WAY, QUIT!!!"

Not many fathers would stand up for their kids. The child didn't harm anyone.

which is exactly why the owner said he is still allowed to come, just not everyday.

Whenever you are looking for the truth in a situation involving any professional athlete, always start with the premise that the protagonist thinks his shit don't stink. Since he was 5, he was told that he is greater than everyone else, and that he can have anything he wants. And then understand that the situation is mainly about money, professional sports is first and foremost business. Those two assertions lead you to the understanding that the kid and his presence in the locker room had nothing to do with this matter. The White Sox ownership and the GM saw a way to save $13,000,000.00 and get rid of some of the teams dead weight at the same time. Other players coming to LaRoche's defense will be meaningless in a month and everyone involved knows this. Let's re-visit this on May 1.

Kids shouldn't be in the clubhouse. This wouldn't be a question in any other major sport.

They play a lot of games on the road. He is away from kid for 2 weeks continuously every month. Then when they play home games he brings him to the game. What's wrong with this? Why would the kid get ruined?

If your father paid attention to you when you were a child you wouldn't end up being a miserable gambler with a losing spreadsheet that for some bizarre reason you proudly display for the world to see.

Lastly, if he has cared about his family he would collect his $13M and continue to hit his mediocre .200 average.

Supposedly this was written into the contract. I do agree as a general matter that the kid shouldn't be permanently in the clubhouse, but it's the White Sox own fault that they did this and created this situation.

LaRoche has also explicitly stated school is not important for his kid. He states he'll learn more from a baseball clubhouse than he would at school.

He can afford better tutors than the minimum wage public school teachers. And travelling around the country is the best geography education a kid can get and the exposure to different cultures will take the redneckness out of him and he would turn out to be a normal non-racist adult.

It was written in the contract? I thought there was just an oral agreement.

One day, he has a fukking locker in the CWS locker room, he's visible in front of 10,000's of fans, shagging balls pre-game, has a sense of confidence, that he's a big leaguer

And now, the kid has nothing. He's got a big reality check coming his way thanks to his ol' man.
