#2Yes it is over and nobody cares. If Matz doesn't do it tonight they won't beat Harvey, Noah, and Degromm 3 in a row. Gearing up for Kc/nym.Comment -

#10Not sure he has any credit left, at least if he's been putting his money where his mouth is. Swinging and missing 3 times in 1 series. Ouch.
And tonight: Mets +anything is a fukkin' gift. I know a shit-ton of people who took the Mets in the NLCS and for different games, but no one who bet a sweep.
And a sweep is what I think we're looking at because for the fourth game in a row, the Mets start a young talent who throws hard, gets Ks, and doesn't walk batters.
The only reason Matz isn't held in the same regard as the other starters is simply a matter of seasoning, but there's little drop off in pitching talent there. What really matters is he pitched quite well last time out vs. Dodgers under far higher pressure; but couldn't finish off Clayton Kershaw. Imagine that.
Now Matz squares off against Hammels, who lasted 3 innings last time out with hits, walks, and runs scored against him.
Until this Mets staff nails down the World Series, they won't get much betting respect. In the meantime pound the Mets and make some money.
Ps. Maddon is a fraud, makes Terry Collins look like a genius - this is the biggest surprise of the NLCS.Comment -

#13Not much to add to what Shea has already said. The Cubbies biggest kryptonite is facing gas, and they are getting another dose of it this evening. Matz isn't going to touch 98-100, but he will sit 94-97 all game and mixes in a filthy change/decent curve. Rizzo and Schwarber can't be thrilled about facing this from a lefty. Wright and Cespedes are waking back up too.
There is blood in the water, and the Mets smell it. I already grabbed the plus money this morning.Comment -

#21By the way terry collins stated matz could have a short leash, might be all hands on deck tonight as far as pitching is concerned. Under could be a playComment -

#23But I doubt "all hands" would really include any of the starters. deGrom went last night, Harvey would go tomorrow. I suppose Syndergaard could be available, but do they really wanna use him in relief when he may be needed on normal rest? I don't see why heavy bullpen means under.Comment -

#28All I know know is even down 3-0, if you win 1 game the series has a different feel to it. Win a 2nd game and the team that was ahead loses its swagger. As a Giants fan I knew that if the Tigers won game 4 in 2012 World Series they were in a dog fight.Comment -
