Yeah true enough,fitting him under the cap shouldn't be to hard for CGY though given the players they have ,resigning him would be a different question. Total rent a player situation.

Don't listen to all the noise around Stamkos, he ain't going anywhere. Fukn' Canadian papers/news/web been trying to get our players since Vinny was drafted. "He's from Toronto, wants to go home. He's French Canadian, Montreal's a perfect fit. Etc. etc." All noise. Vasilekskiy could be back as soon as next week, he's our goalie of the future (maybe sooner than later). Gudlevskis played well against Chicago the other night. If anything I think Yzerman trades Bishop, freeing up a little under $6 million for this year and next. The Bolts have Hedman coming up at the end of next season too, plus the triplets. With that and the uncertainty around what the salary cap will be, there's no rush. Stamkos likes it here, plays with good players, a good coach/organization, and has a chance to win. I got faith they'll get it done. But push come to shove, he goes before Hedman. Just hope it doesn't come down to that.

On a side note, as the unofficial voice of the Lightning, we'd be more than happy to discuss a deal for Matt Carle and his $5 million salary. Reach me on the hotline.
