I'm new to the boards here but have hovered long enough to know there are a few other poker players on the forum who went through the Full Tilt deal. Interesting side note to the ongoing legal battles, Ivey has now brought a countersuit against the Borgata over the baccarat winnings he was involved in.

#5Ivey's lucky he's not in jail, and he's the last person on earth who should be bitching about how somebody took advantage of him.

#9One sides' advantage is generally accepted, the other side's is not.
Too bad. Ivey has a case here. If a casino is slipping and has readable cards, it's their fault, not the player.Comment -

#11Really? U speaking from experience? One thing that differs him from every other gambler out there is that he will always have a backer even if he does go broke...atleast for cardsComment -

#17How did the thing in England turn out? This is not the first time Ivey has been in the middle of these kind of rhubarbs . I think Monaco , too. The Asian chick must be his scout and have the eyes of an eagle, LOL!
But, anyway, look at the money opportunities if bad cards get in the game. Like a reverse break in would work. Have your own card factory - so what - it costs you a 100 k to make a shvtpile of cards - break in - not to steal something but to change the cards. Or bribe the delivery guy to deliver these readable cards.
There are a lot of possible ways. If he has got caught at this 3 times or more - how many times did he not get caught.
On top of that - he must be a greedy pig? Could have maybe rocked them for 500K and they would not have complained so bad?Comment -

#21Thanks and I understand what hey did and how he did it. There is a great 60 Minutes Sports interview with Ivey where he talks about it(I can link it here if you haven't see it). My issue is: Where were the people paid to stop this? I personally don't think edge sorting or card counting is cheating. I'm probably in the minority with that on this site, which is odd because we are all battling longer odds than necessary when we gamble at casinos. Casinos have a built in system to take the most money they can from us, without it seeming like they are doing it. They are the ones that have all the tools to stop card counting and edge sorting -- which are amazing skills -- and if they miss either one of those, they are the ones to blame.
If Ivey did do something illegal, which he didn't, he would be in jail now.Comment
