Actually there was $675 worth of risk.

While the winning ticket cost 50 cents, the bettor bet a total of $675 on a combination of five horses to win those first five races.

I once had 3 separate parlays during bowl season 2 years ago... $17.50 risked, and if Auburn would have beaten Florida State in the title game I wouldda raked in a total of $43,000. One of the parlays was a 6 teamer (all big underdog MLs) of $5 to win $38,000. Theres a thread about it somewhere on here. All 3 ended with Auburn ML, and I didnt hedge a cent. It was on CarbonPoker sportsbook, I probably would still be getting paid today if that would have hit, lmao.

            The 6 teamer was

Texas Tech over Arizona St (+420ish)
            Michigan St over Stanford (+220ish)
            Central Florida over Baylor (+575ish)
            Oklahoma over Alabama (+500ish)
I think Nebraska over whoever they beat that year (+260ish)
            Auburn over Florida St (+220ish)

something along these lines... was a heartbreaker for sure. Some of the guys here probably remember that thread.

haha yeah I remember if I wanted to hedge that thing I wouldda had to deposit $30,000 to bet on Florida State at -300 (that was the line at game time I remember). That would have been to gaurentee $10,000. I didnt have 30K obviously but even if I did, I never would have tied that much money up online.

What I should have done was went to Vegas, and put down $10K or so and had a great time if FSU won and raked in $33K profit if Auburn would have won. I could have came up with 10K to win $3333. Oh well, it was definately the sweat of my lifetime. I wasnt even upset when the game ended.... my girl was distraught though.

I doubt that this win was life changing money.

I mean he bet ATLEAST $675 to win the jackpot. A lot of people bet around $128 or so on those pick 5's and pick 6's. But $675 is quite a bit. And maybe he had other tickets as well

                                    I would designate $100,000 to hookers… $20,000 to beer… 50,000 The food 100,000 to housing

I would think that's about it after taxes

471k after taxes equate to about 315k. jj's investment plan is...well...its a plan. the smart way is to pay off mortgage if you have one. pay off all debt that you pay interest on. take a little off the top for some fun. invest the rest and play with the interest without ever touching the principal.
