American flag will fly at embassy in Cuba for first time since 1961.
Americans should be proud to have such a great President.

He had to do a few things right if you keep making decisions eventually you'll hit on one or two but general consensus is he was the worst president in American history

The general consensus is that he's still black.
His terms have not been filled with wars and have not been filled with recession. More people have health care and there is less discrimination. He's only the worst president if you love wars and you hate prosperity, health and equality.

Ive been to Cuba on business, it will be 20 years minimum before it has the infrastructure to not be a third world country. If we the USA dont build it it wont get built, Cuba has no money to upgrade itself to modern times.

for sure. worst recovery from a recession since WW2, millions more on food stamps, unemployment at almost 20%, will have added more that 10 trillion additional debt when he leaves office, continued spying on its own people, droning, unpopular healthcare too expensive tons of waivers and the increases only start in 2016, least transparent administration in history, etc etc
worst president in American history without question

We should extend the highway from Key West to Havana. No need for Cubans to swim to freedom when they can drive their 57 Chevys to Florida.

Yet, not a losing month of job growth, saved the auto industry and got paid back with interest. Health insurance for all.
What have the Republicans done for us again? I've asked this question many times with no response. Don't expect one here.

Republicans started 2 wars and didn't finish either, took the Dow Jones down to 6,000 where it hasn't been since the mid 90's losing trillions in peoples retirement funds and gave us Donald Trump the biggest idiot in the Western Hemisphere.

Repubs and Dems have both been an overall failure for the last 15 years or so...Congress, Presidency, everything
No compromises whatsoever, just an overall shit show
Hope the hardcore factions of both sides are happy

the president has one job above all others to do. Look after his people. He's had 6 1/2 years to get congress to work together for the betterment of the country. He's failed miserably.

That was never happening though....Repubs were never going to give him a fair chance
Way too bitter especially about Obamacare from the start
I don't think Obama has done a good job but I blame this specific problem more on Repubs

Only 62% of working age adults are currently participating in the work force.
Let that sink in.
Over one in three able bodied adults DONT work. That's not even success in Greece......

where do you get that from?
old people are working more.
Every two years, the Bureau of Labor Statistics makes a projection of what the nation’s workforce will look like 10 years into the future. Its latest projection, released last month, foresees an America in which more people work longer into their older years. By 2022, the agency projects that 31.9% of those ages 65 to 74 will still be working. That compares with 20.4% of the same age bracket in the workforce in 2002 and 26.8% who were in the workforce in 2012.
i know youth unemployment is at unbelievable levels. but i doubt that is because they are lazy it's clearly because all of the jobs that kids used to do are now done by adults who have to do that shitty job because their factory got moved to china.
so the real question is: if you're concerned about jobs why do you support republicans? we could create millions of jobs if the republicans weren't so caught up in partisan politics that won't allow them to do anything to make obama look good - even if it harms regular people.
if that number is true that is a harsh indictment of the private sector; that it can't come close to providing full-employment.

That's way higher than at most points in the post. A lot of people choose not to work and to stay at home to take care of kids (or parents) or whatever. And people retire.
There are plenty of jobs. Plenty. Are they all perfect jobs? No. Are enough people well-trained for the right jobs? No. But there are jobs. There is a lot of economic activity. Our economy is one of the strongest in the world. Even despite a lot of of the partisan asshats out there who wish things were awful because we still have a black president. The country was on the precipice of a collapse of epic propositions before the black guy took over. And now we've had years and years of economic and employment growth.
