Am in Costa Rica.
watched it on tv in a bar with my tica girlfriend.
Watched it from start to finish. Had watched all the previous GC games as well.
Thought the Ticos looked shitty in previous games and I blamed it on Wanchope.
I am a big fan of Pinto and would he did here......
thought they played much better against Mexico.
Joel Campbell had a great opportunity late in regulation.
couldn't believe that BS call.
pretty obvious though- refs knew they couldn't steal the game if it went to kicks.
They had to steal it there or take their chances in kicks which is a crapshoot at best.

Yes thanks for that but I was aware. Referencing the fact that the Mexican team was well aware of the time left and mustve known the refs would be on their side to keep pushing at 122 minutes. I wouldn't be surprised if the refs told CR theyre stopping at 121 but swallowed the whistles to get Mex one last shot. Think its a coincidence the CR team seems to have fallen asleep in the most critical moment of the game? Basically this sport is one of the shadiest around.

Costa Rica doesn't belong in the semis. Mexico outshot them 6 to 1. Noone wants to see a team play defense for 120 minutes. That was the 4th game in a row Costa Rica played on draw and didn't try to win.
