Can't do what Cabo's doing unless you're in Vegas.
The town has a few benefits.
Don't need to avaiod them all to be successful.

Last Summer, I stayed in vegas back and forth for weeks, so in total 1 month. I would go for a week and come back, go to edc, stay a week, come back.
I was partying, grinding poker, and sportsbook.
Everything went well and paid for the first three weeks. Cashed local tournaments at PLanet Hollywood, Ball'y. Great thing about Vegas is you can grind 3-4 poker tourney a day vs locally (1). Then there is the sportsbook with instant pay. I paid my way for the hotels, edc, nightclub and dayclub entrance fee (70-90 per event of a main DJ or artist at various night club). The last week, I was still partying but went on a bad streek in sports. Didn't have time to play poker because I was going to day/night parties for 4 days straight. Overall, A great experience. However, Discipline is key if you want to make Vegas your destination. I don't touch table games or slots much. Maybe once in awhile but for $40-50. Hit and run tactics on roulette. But rarely.....

I guess that I will find out since I will be moving there this week. I don't drink or do drugs and at my age women are not a priority. I will be betting on sports everyday just like I've been doing for years offshore. I will be living in the South or SW area of Vegas away from the Strip and doing a little Uber driving. My life will be the same as always. Vegas is a bad place if you let it be a bad place. It's all about making good choices.

The weather is perfect. 80 degree yearly average temp and over 300 days of full sunshine with low humidity levels. 24/7 lifestyle. Don't ever have to worry about needing something and having the place be closed cause it's after 9pm or Sunday like most other places. Great access to outdoor recreation. Hiking, camping, sand dunes, mountain biking, boating, golf courses, sky diving all in close proximity. Close to two other big ass cities, LA and Phoenix for weekend trips or vacations. Plus all of the tourist stuff which is just icing on the cake. Las Vegas is big enough that it has almost everything but still small enough in population that's it's still livable and not horribly congested like Cali or the East Coast and also doesn't have the oppressive high cost of living of those places either.

Habitual, certainly Vegas has great benefits beyond the gaming/nitelife.
But why exclude that stuff from your gameplan? JJ has been posting anti-gaming stuff for a while. Should be clear that his viewpoint is tied to his spreadsheet results. Don't let him talk down to the rest of us. Best to take a wide world-view.
