#10The play after the timeout would have been much worse. He would have put Josh Smith back in and run pick and pop with Dwight Howard.Comment -

#11Hes as black as can be... bad attitude, he's a me before team guy. Pouts a lot, doesnt play hard hardly ever. under 50% FT shooter, but is decent from 3 pt range... bad work ethic. At times he looks unstoppable though, I think this is why so many people get frustrated with him. He'll go drop 25 pts 12 reb 8 ast 3 blocks and 3 steals line, then the next night go 2 for 13 with 6 turnovers... just erratic play... probably on drugs honestlyComment -

#17Teams don't earn brownie pts for covering the spread. Moral victories don't count for shit, never have. Its win or lose, Rockets lost twice, end of discussion. They won't win more than 1 game in the series.Comment -

What about game 1 allowing the rockets to melt down and a 14 POINT lead disappeared over 3 minutes before Halftime. Mchale is shellshocked on the bench with TWO timeouts he NEVER used. Unbelievable.Comment -

#28That is why I included McHale in the opening posts. A coach without bolts in their neck would ONLY play Josh Smith in an emergency or as Mike Singletary would say "I would rather play 4 on 5 than have Josh Smith out there until I have to do something else". Josh Smith should be behind a piece of glass that says "Break in case of emergency". McHale is just as much to blame. It would be like letting my 8 year old drive on the Autobahn. Just stupid.Comment -

#29funny thing is, knowing the way the Rockets' GM operates, he'll probably be happy to bring Josh Smith back next year. the Pistons are still paying him for a few more years so anything the Rockets (or any other team) pay Smith will be offset by the Pistons.
he'll still be paid the same annual amount that he signed for with the Pistons, so it's just a matter of how much the other team is willing to pay of that total amount. for example, Houston paid him $2M this year after he got waived (so that $2M was simply deducted from what the Pistons still owe him).
i'm guessing he was reasonably happy to land in Houston and he did come up big in some of their playoff wins, so that might be good enough for Houston to bring him back for another cheap deal. obviously, no one is going to offer Smith more than what the Pistons still owe him on an annual basis, so Smith can sign for as little as he wants since the Pistons will still have to pay the difference.
what this really does is make Smith fool's gold for another team, but Houston has been known to make bargain basement deals for players out of favor. i also wouldn't be shocked if they tried to get Rondo for dirt cheap as well.Comment -
