I have not won a NCAAM bracket contest in 18 years
Is it skill or randomness that makes a bracket contest winner? I make pretty good money betting the tournament but absolutely suck at making a decent bracket.

Most people don't watch bball until March, then think that the little seed number next to the team measures it's strength. Very often the lower seeded team is better than the better one they're facing. In 6 years I have never lost money on brackets. Hope & plan to keep that goin this year. (Knock on wood.)

One of the problems I've had of late is that I've stopped trying to pick upsets in the first couple of rounds. That normally takes me out of the running by the first weekend.

I am serious. I have not won in 18 years!!!!!!! I thought that was the start of something special. It was a one hit wonder. I've had some close calls but the final four games are normally the end game for me. I might have won a few years ago when Kentucky/Kansas played in the championship game, but I think I was cheated out of that one. I picked that final and had futures on both teams winning so I can't complain about that year.

I have won every year the last 1 year running. Total skill. Anyone who tells you otherwise hasn't won in the last 13 months.

Kentucky didn't play Kansas. Kansas beat Memphis. I won it all that year bc I had Kansas and practically everyone had Memphis winning with D rose that year. That was one of my favorite finals games

The only year Calipitiful won was over Thomas Robinson and the Kansas Jayhawks. Don't test me on that one. I watched the game with absolutely no rooting interest, because I had a future on both teams, but would have won more if Kansas had won.

Guys, stop picking all 1 seeds in the final four. It's only happened once. But, never take a 16 over a 1. #12 and #10 seeds win upsets in first round, guaranteed. A 7/10 will likely beat a #2 seed this year. Three of the final four teams will represent a 'major' conference, the fourth a Cinderella. Louisville, Georgetown, SDSU all upset alerts for first game. There ya go, done.

Kansas won 75-68. Look it up, I just double checked. Like I said, it won me my bracket. I remember watching Memphis chocking at the ft line at the end. It was their kiss of death all year and everyone had been talking about how they figured it out in the tourney. Until the final mins of the championship game

About five years ago a sharpy sharp told me to pay attention to 2 things, who has the best gurards, and factor in heavily the teams SoS.
Strength of schedule is huge he told me.
He's right in a sense, it's not the be all end all, but the team with the tougher schedule usually prevails.
Not always, but more so than not I learned.

We are not talking the same year. I said a few years ago, that was 7 or 8 years ago. I try not to remember that year. I had Memphis and the under and I am still pissed at them pissing it all away.

It's like betting. ... find value.
you gotta have a contrarian pick or 2.
i usually look for a 3, 4, 5 seed that i dont see winning 2 games. And pick against them in the first game (considering who they play of course). Like last year.... i had provo knocking off UNC and L Laf knocking off Creighton.... both should have but failed to close out games.
But thats what its abouT.
And getting 3 of final 4 atleaSt And both championship teams.
