McCoy is very good but with Kelly's system he shouldn't have much trouble replacing him. Phila saving a ton of cap and also getting rid of a potential distraction as reports are McCoy isn't really team first guy.

Alonso on rookie deal and all pro written all over him.

I wasn't aware that Kiko has already had THREE major surgeries. Had to have surgeries on both of his ACL's, as well as major hip surgery.

That's a lot of damaged parts on a 24 year old.

Only 2 years younger than McCoy....who's never had any surgery.

Seems like Chip is putting together his old college teams to win in the NFL.

He may want to ask Steve Spurrier how that worked out for him.

With regard to the trade. It's a good move. You're not gonna pay McCoy 10mil esp after all the bitching he did with how he was sharing plays with sproles. Guy was becoming another locker room Cancer. Plenty of cap space now to sign spiller / Ingram / ect. Also will get a good cb and all will be well.

Honesty Opie. If tday you could trade Garrett for Kelly would you do it?

I live in the area. It's the families home team and I will tell you that it's not a popular decision. Even my wife and her non-football friends are talking about it on Facebook and shit. Personally I think Chip will look like a genius at the end of it all. In Chip's system the player doesn't matter. His offense is a high rotation kind of thing and no room for high CAP players breaking down the chemistry. At the end of day Chip Kelly knows that he will always have OFFENSE.....which is why he is focused on beefing up the DEFENSE.

Chip is a winner and will always be winner...like it or not!!

Opie is right. U don't take what could possibly the best back in football and trade him for a banged up athlete. I wonder how many running backs could have gotten thru those no existing holes the shitty Philly line was making last year. You give away Deshan for absolutely nothing and somehow this guy is a wizzard? He couldn't find one team in the whole entire league to give him something for Jackson last year? Now he is shoring up the defense? That defense is fuking awful. U need about eight new players to fix that collection of pigs.

come on man. Stop watching ESPN all day & realize the facts about the business of football. No one was taking DJax last year & his 11mil contract. There's a common thread here & it's chip does not want ME players in his locker room. I'd bet that if sproles recd 80% of the carries he'd of rushed for 1300 yards as well. His offense is not a run between the tackles offense. McCoy at 10mil and a reduced roll in this offense wasn't going to happen. There's been rumblings in the philly media for weeks that this was going to happen so it's not surprising. I'm excited to see what they go for in free agency. This is chips team now, Andy Reid's players are all leaving.
