if it wasnt for the refs in last year's NFC title game, Harbaugh would have been a Super Bowl champ, and Pete Carroll would have been scratching his balls. Harbaugh got the 49ers, who were horrible for a decade, to 3 straight NFC title games in his first 3 years. Instantly turned the team around. Pete Carroll is 25 years older than Harbaugh, cant compare the 2 at all. I like them both and would love to have either as the coach of the Browns, but all this Harbugh hate is just ignorant.

Still not a top 10 program. Texas has been down the last 5 years. Do you consider Mich St a better program than Texas? Mich St has done well but the Big Ten has been down during their run.Comment -

#48Usd wasn't even a thought in anyone's mind and Harbaugh won everything he could with them. Stanford was 2-14 before Harbaugh (and sucks since) and he took them to a top 5 ranking and bcs games.
He may be a bafoon but Harbaugh will restore Michigan to elite status soon.Comment -

#49Michigan had no other choice. They need a quick fix to a disaster year. It's all business. They don't want to wait 3-5 years hoping for a change... they needed it now. Fan base was turning on U of M. Students protesting on campus... had to be done.Comment -

By all accounts, he's a good guy....just hyper-competitive.
As a UofM fan, I'm thrilled with this move. As should every wolverine fan.
Tat is 100% correct here. Harbaugh will have the Blue good again...and soon.Comment -

#59Depends on how you're defining a Top-10 program. At the moment, MSU is in much better shape than Texas. Much. Even if we're splitting hairs there, you said MSU may not even Top-30, which is ridiculous. They have made recruiting in-roads in Detroit during the Rodriguez and Hoke eras that Harbaugh won't be able to just reverse overnight.Comment -

#60I might be the minority here, but I could see this getting ugly down the road. Harbaugh played nice at Stanford, and was a jerk in San Fran. He will be dealing with crazed lunatics every day in Michigan, I think they do well on the field but he wont play well with others and be out in a few years for the NFL. Just an insane amount of money, he had to take the job, but he still reminds me of a NFL coach more than a college one.Comment -

#61Why would he take a college game where he has to recruit players. It is so much easier to buy your players. (some colleges do this too) I can't see him leaving the NFL . It would be a terrible decision. And I believe he is a little bit of an asshole BUT sometime you have to be to coach in the NFL and he is a dam good coach.Comment -

The $8 million offer was a business move for the University of Michigan... they didn't want to play around. They fukked around with Hoke and looked where it got them. Harbaugh has a no nonsense attitude. They don't want pu$$ies on the sidelines like Hoke. I think Harbaugh will deliver for Michigan. Guy might go undefeated. We don't know? Not a bad future to play for the 2015 season and/or 2016 season. He's going to win a title. Just watch.
As for San Francisco... don't know what was going on behind the scenes? I blame Kaepernick more than Harbaugh. Maybe Kaepernick overachieved in previous years? Maybe Kap's head got too big? Regardless... Harbaugh did the best he could...
Someone offers you $8 million a year... to go back where you once originated from??? Are you going to say NO? Even though $8 million is steep... it showed Michigan wanted quick answers... and I don't think Harbaugh's the kind of guy to take the $ and not perform. He's going to give Michigan what they need. Restore the passion.Comment -
