I had not seen him play in the regular season yet. I saw him against Houston in the playoffs last year, and he is even better this year.

Quality guy, outstanding clutch player, great leader. Blazers deserve this after some terrible luck the last few years (and few decades if you want to talk Sam Bowie)

Just tied it up with 1 second left on a 3. Looked like the same play that he hit to knock off Houston in the playoffs.

Lakerboy is right, Blazers have little to no depth. Their bench consists of Blake, Kaman and then a bunch of young scrubbos. They will show well in the regular season, but will wear down in a 7 game series.

They've got 4 months to develop some depth and/or trade for someone.
Guys like McCollum have an opportunity to step up.
Portland's starting 5 is about as good as it gets in this league. Wouldn't exactly say they are a 2 man team like LB said.

Not many teams have a center. Lopez rebounds and defends. That's good enough. Matthews is solid. Guy puts up 16 ppg a night as a third/fourth option.

The starting 5 is very good. Matthews has really surprised, sounds crazy but he will probably get a max contract after this season. Lopez is solid too, might sound crazy but not a huge drop off from Brook to Robin.
I don't see the bench getting much better unless they make a trade.

The west is so tough. As a Portland resident I'd love to think they will go far in the playoffs. I can't imagine betting on anyone at this point. POR is one of 7 teams that could easily represent the west.

Lmao at the clowns in here. Course lakerboy that guy is sharp ha. Cowboys wont make playoffs right on son good call there. Anyway Aldridge and Lillard can match up with any of the best in the game including durant and westbrook. Lopez matches up well with any center in the league. Not many teams have a dominating center what Houston? You saw what the blazers did to houston in playoffs. Blazers have to be considered one of the top teams out west to go to nba finals. Wes matthews having another great year. Got to get Batum going. Steve Blake and Chris Kamen were big pick ups in the offseason. Rip city kids.

beerman you are right portland should be favored to win the west. they are stacked. because in 7 game series you can win with 2 guys cause the other team cant focus on them for 7 games. btw you can get pretty goods on portland to win the west. books are showing no respect. they have them placed odds as a 7th or 8th seed. i dont get it.

No. The books are two years late to the party. They had +280 odds on the blazers to win the division despite Durant missing the beginning of the season
