this is his 3rd year on the team and is very familar with the offense.
Meyer being the genius that he is has given him some playing time this season to get him experience.

I just have one question: if he's so great, why was he third string? Why was a freshman starting over him when Miller went down? If I had to guess, ball control issues. But to be fair, I have no clue about the kid.

i guess somebody has to be 3rd string.
here is my take . Braxton Miller played well enough last year to enter the season as #1.
JT Barrett was the most talented but Urban Meyer was still going to go with the experienced Miller since Barrett is just a freshmen.
With the Cardale Jones . He has all the phsyical tools but he is a little more raw and not as polished as Miller/ Barrett. Barrett reminds me of Russel Wilson as far as being cool calm and confident and mature.
not sure if you saw what Cardell Jones tweeted but that leaves me to believe he is not the most intelligent / mature player on the Buckeyes and his attitude / lack or maturity probably led to Barrett getting the nod on the depth chart.
The Tweet was something to the effect of "why do we gotta go to class? I came here to play football"
"i didnt come here to play school"
now while i agree Jones makes a good point that many athletes do not care about the acadmeic aspect of college and probably wouldnt have attended college if " Minor League Football" was available to high school studs the same way High School baseball players can just skip college and go play minor league baseball....
BUT you probably shouldnt tweet stuff like that. It makes you look bad.

i love the honesty of that tweet though. Its refreshing. It just confirms what many think of athletes anyway lol.
So the guy clearly views himself as a football player and not a student first athlete second.
I bet he is on cloud 9 right now and i'm sure he loves being the big man on campus if only for a week.
Go get'em Cardale. The world is yours.

I think many people think Urban Meyer is going to treat Cardale with kid gloves and have a conservative game plan vs Wisconsin.
If he took that approach Ohio State would get blown out.
He's gotta step in there and be ready to throw it 30 times. This is a high tempo fast paced aggressive offense and if i were Urban Meyer first fukkin play of the game i am calling a play action hailmary and let him hit
Devin Smith for an 80 yard bomb.

Meyer thrives in the underdog role add in the fact that most kids from Ville are mentally tough = take Buckeyes and the points

How is he supposed to be amazing when he's been there a few years and couldn't win the starting role over a freshman

same way Tom Brady was behind Drew Henson on the depth chart at Michigan.
