just shocked how easily Auburn moved the ball up and down the field in the 1st half.

Duke Johnson was getting 30 yards seperation from the defensive backs on some plays.

Auburns defense was obviously worse though.

The reason Bama looked so horrid against the pass is because of the gameplan. Saban's gameplan was simple: he wasn't going to let Auburn run the ball, no matter what. And he wasn't going to change the gameplan if Auburn hit a few deep balls. Well they hit more than a few, and I just give credit to Malzone and the OC for making the adjustment. Auburn ran the read option all night last year and was the reason they won, not this year. Saban was gonna make Marshall beat them with his arm, and Marshall just played the game of his life throwing-wise...

If you think Oregon will throw it as effectively on Bama as Auburn did you are nuts. Auburn is perfect at faking and giving false keys to get the defense out of position... its a whole different kind of animal than defending a straight spread team
