#142you can't start going 'fluke' this or 'fluke' that..
he played a 'Manning' in those and Brady missed wide-open receivers. Eli did not.
Brady did not inspire his teammates to make insane catches that were extremely well covered.
and ELI did.
Eli hit his guys when it mattered most. Late in the 4th Qtr, on game winning Touchdown drives.
Brady does not have Superbowl nerves.

then 6 yrs ago (injury)
5 yrs ago... (Ravens/Wildcard)
4 yrs ago (Jets)
3 yrs ago.. (Giants AGAIN!!)
2 yrs ago...(Ravens with ZERO PTS in the 2nd Half AT HOME)
LAST year... (Broncos.. with ONLY 3 measly pts on the board at the beginning of the 4th)
we've heard it all before

#152Brady has an excellent arm. He can make all the throws. Manning cannot. That's why he gets embarrassed against tight defenses especially in cold weather games.
I'm sorry you're too stupid to understand this.Comment -

Montana being 4-0 in superbowls is a weak argument. In the NFC championship game before his 1st SB win he threw 3 picks against Dallas. Only had 157 yards passing in the SB that season. In the 2nd SB run he had 3 TDs and 3 picks prior to the SB. His defense gave up 3 points in those games. They carried him the the SB. The next 3 seasons his teams were one and done in the playoffs.Montana played lime crap in those games. His teams scored 3 fgs in those games. Montana had 0 TDs and 4 picks and a 50 rating in those games. He was even pulled against an 8-7 vikings team he was so bad. The last two SB runs he played amazing but people forget he wasn't this unbeatable winner he's made out to be.
Not to discredit Montana but he had his flaws. Every QB has flaws. Brady is no exception but he's one of the greatest QBs of all time and his career is not complete. He's most certainly better that Manning and comes up bigger when it counts the most. That can't be debated.Comment -

#163Didn't read previous posts, but fwiw I expected Brady to beat Manning at home. I also think Manning is a favorite to win in Denver. So what? Both are great HOF QBs in slightly different ways. QB battles aren't 1v1s. They play against the opposing team's defense. Not really Manning's fault if the opposing team doesn't stop Brady and vice versaComment -

but the scope of the infraction is too vast.. too many lives are in play.
Pete Rose gambling on other MLB games is a far lesser crime than Belichik's was

But on the other hand: When it comes to the guys receiving their passes: Manning's guys are better. And not only this year. But still Brady is able to beat his ass, what is he now, 11:5 I guess? Brady is the better QB when it comes to adjusting. Plus he is the better guy under pressure. Manning with 438 yards and he still gets his ass kicked? "Not Manning's fault" - yes, to a degree. When you look at the game yesterday - maybe Brady made the smarter plays? Under pressure. Just have a look at what kind of passes are completed just because of Brady! Not because of his Receivers. And he had a few of those passes in the game we are talking about. If I had a mediocre team and could choose just between those 2: it's Brady for me. Any day of the week, any weather, any circumstances. He makes good players better because of what he does. Manning needs a good team more than Brady - but thats just my opinion here. And I'm not even a big football fan.Comment -

Bountygate was terrible. Careers can be lost, a severe injury may cost a man and his family,
tens of millions of dollars. Not sure if enough on that one.

but secretly taping the personnel and in-game hand signals is an effort to disable your opponent,
in order to win close games that you may otherwise lose.
that is a far greater moral violation that wagering money on outcomes.
what is worse? (let's us apply the lens of this paradigm to the circumstances of our own behavior)
a) people hanging out in a forum trying to figure out who is going to win a game...?
-- or --
b) people assembling to discuss how to rig games?
big difference.

#172There goes Eli and another losing season. It's not debatable that Brady has a better arm and he's more mobile. He juked out D Ware and then threw a lazer to gronk on 3rd down. Manning was 3-11 on 3rd and 0-4 on 4th..It's true they don't play against each other at the same time but we can still rephrase the statement...
Denver has the better D..or so we thought..Brady puts up more scores on Denver's D than Peyton put up on NE's..One guy was throwing missiles to his wr's and te's while the other was throwing high balls that were able to be met by 3 defensive players before it came down to the ground. Someone can come and tell us how good Eli is..or they can just watch highlights of last night and look at the Giants records that involves getting SHUT OUT to the EaglesComment -

#174Yep. Similar to an offensive lineman holding and eating the penalty rather than letting the QB get blindsided, sometimes they can get away with it and sometimes it draws a flag. Pats were bending the rules, looking for a strategic advantage, just like every other NFL team every single Sunday, except the Pats got flagged and ate the penalty. This whole "spygate" argument is the same as a home-ster crying foul after a loss because the refs affected the game one way or another.Comment -
