    Chris Webber interested in Buying Hawks



    Webber leads the Webber Group, which has informed the league of its desire to purchase majority interest in the Atlanta Hawks. The franchise is for sale in the wake of a controversy involving racially charged comments made by owner Bruce Levenson and general manager Danny Ferry.
    The group announced its intentions Thursday on Twitter

                        He is fairly loaded but I highly doubt he is the main money behind the investment group. Odds are he is put up as the face as he obviously has a link to NBA both past and present and he is a good face to put forward to the large African American population that makes up a decent portion of Hawks potential fan base.

                        That being said, guy may not have always been a saint while in the league but he is pretty intelligent and I can see him as someone that has some decent capital built up over the years.

                          I'm sure he has some big backers but Weber knows the league, knows the players , knows the owners, knows the inner workings of the NBA
