Looking at his stats he has 3000 hits and a lot of rings but he was never a dominant player or won an MVP, never considered best player in the league. He was consistant but never great

#20First let me state that I'm an Angel apologist. Jeter did what he did on the biggest stage. Nobody ever wondered if he did roids. He never had a sex scandal in a city looking to find a story. His stats are hof worthy even if he never won a World Series, but he won FIVE. Five fukkin World Series. He is without a doubt a first ballot hofer.Comment -

#21Consider this 1st ballot Hall Of Famer with 91.7% of the vote
Career
Batting Avg. .262
Hits - 2460
RBIs - 793
SBs - 580
when you compare him to ozzie smith he should get 100% first ballotComment -

#24Jeter's the only man in history who ever got 200 hits in the postseason alone. Now obviously, he got several more opportunities to get those hits than, say, Ernie Banks. But let’s put this in better perspective. In 158 postseason games, roughly the equivalent of a full season, Jeter wound up with 200 hits, 20 homers, 18 steals, a .308 batting average, a .374 on-base percentage and an .838 OPS. So how many active players have ever had a regular season like that? Exactly five. And one of them is (guess who?) Derek Jeter. Who of course also had a "season" like that in October. Against the best teams and the best pitchers, in the most pressurized games of his life. Don't tell me that's overrated.

Yes, I think he's a HOF, but not first ballot if he plays on any team other than the Yanks. If he's a Cub or on a few teams like most players not Yankees it would take him a couple tries.
Geez man settle down.Comment -
