Do People Actually Watch Little League World Series?
Never understood why people watch it, and I like baseball. Why do I want to watch some little kids play baseball? I don't watch little kids play basketball or football. I could understand possibly watching 16-18 year olds, but 12-13 year olds? Never understood the hype with it, seems like it always leads off on sportscenter and always has the primetime espn slot, so I guess some people must watch it.

Just watched sportscenter....wtf, there is some girl playing on a boys team mowing down batters. I wonder if the boys feel embarrassed getting K'd by a girl. About time a girl throws overhand btw.

More of a rant thread, but just curious if others watch it and what they think of it. You'd probably have to pay me to watch it. No way am I betting on little kids.

agree 100%. makes me so mad when there are 20 other games that i would rather watch, but espn has this stuff on in prime time spots instead.

One of the most annoying things about ESPN. Can't understand why they always show this shit.

I agree, the story about the girl seems pretty cool. I actually found the SportsCenter piece on her pretty interesting. She throws an overhand 70mph fastball, very impressive.

Still can't get around to watch it. How are 12 year old kids getting more attention than MLB in mid-late August?

I enjoy watching it personally, catch it every year. Some of the plays these kids make are pretty darn impressive for their age.

Def better than watching Astros/Red Sox or something on NESN

was a cult event originally. hop in your chevy drive to wiliamsport, eat hot dogs and apple pie, sit on the grass in the outfield, watch a game with shorter fences and basepaths, americana to the max. then they had to bring in the international teams who dominated and ruined it. cultures didn't mix well there. but still don't understand the television over-coverage. yes, MLB can hit the doldrums in august and the also overcovered NFL pre-season tend to divert attention that way, but can't watch little league WS especially when an international team is playing. who cares if so korea beats taiwan or outer mongolia meets japan in the finals.

But that could never happen. A USA team always makes the finals, which is reason #5035 why the LLWS is terrible. You don't even get to see the best teams in the finals.

Besides the fact that it's watching 11 year olds play a sport. Add to that adults screaming at them. It's like a gathering of every asshole domineering coach that failed in life and takes it out on children. Kids striking out in these games and running into the dugout crying; it's grotesque.

                                I love it.

Obviously having a young kid that plays makes a difference, but I always watch some of it every year. Takes me back to when I played LL for all those years.

I enjoy watching it as well. If you ever get a chance and can go see it live, I'd strongly suggest it. Free to get in, no price gouging for food and such. Really a lot of fun.

keep the foreigners out period. we don't let them into the MLB world series, why let the better trained more disciplined (who knows their true age) foreigners into it. it ruins the experience for the most part for the USA kids, knowing they are up against it versus these twerps from thailand etc who are forced to practice 8 hours a day for weeks on end so they can beat us 15-1 and gloat.

I think little league is awesome to watch. The fact that anything can happen on any given routine play makes it more watchable to me.

I watch it. Pro players could take a few hustling lessons from the 11-12 year olds.

Might be a dumb question, but do any of these kids end up making the big leagues? Were the Bryce Harpers of the world playing in this 10 years ago? The only name I can remember is Danny Almonte and he never made it.. At least when I watch HS basketball all-star games, most those kids are in the NBA in 2-4 years.

The 12-13 year olds in little league look like theyre 16-18. I watch it for a few mins just to see the team full of 12-13yos that mostly have 5oclock shadows.

Let's be fair now. You post shirtless selfies on a 99% male gambling board.

So who's really the one we should question?

It really depends on what is going on in the MLB. I would rather watch Felix and Price duel than little league for example,

But if there isnt a good matchup for the day, I would rather watch some 12-13 year olds since they play with more effort I think, even if they are on as skilled.

Biggest misconception is pro plays with no effort
Its a myth and thats all

Pros for the most part are fukki animals in every sport with max effort on a regular basis

its a square view and a failed gamblers view thats all
