Penalties (not free kicks by the way) are the only decent option. Unlike American sports they don't get a rest every 30 seconds while they show adverts, so playing until a goal is scored is not an option.

JJ it's not just PICK ONe side and fall when it comes to penalty shootouts. Its all psycological. Some goalies use tatics against young inexperienced penalty takers and some kickers will do a pause run up. Sometimes the kicker gives away where he wants to place the ball with which way he is leaning, eyes... etc.
