    How good was shaq o'neal?
Only been watching nba a short time, Heard about MJ and Kobe.

I Remember when I visited the USA years ago every magic shirt had O'neal on the back!

    I know he was tall..........

Shaq was one of the most dominant big men in the history of the game. 13 consecutive years averaging over 20 points and 10 boards. I'd say around top 15 all time and above Kobe. Plus he made the 2nd greatest sports star movie of all time behind Space Jam... Kazaam!!

as dominant a center as it gets at his prime. Main reason the Lakers 3 peated in the early 2000s. Teams simply had no answer against him in the post

If you saw him in college you'd realize he was one of the best already.

People forget how quick and agile shaq was in his prime.

Played against him in High School. He was a bucket of crap. A big Fukking bucket though. I think he was like 6-9 or 6-10 I had to guard him and I am 6-1.

Never could match up with Hakeem.

THIS. dude used to run the court like a deer in his younger years and for a 7 footer could actually jump.. it wasnt till later in his career that he turned into Diesel and just bullied guys in the paint for points

He was so good that he carried that Scrub Kobe "The Gimp" Bryant to 3 rings before Kobe chased him out of LA and ruined the franchise for years to come..Shaq was phenomenal...

Guy couldn't be stopped without fouling. He didn't even get half the calls Koby/Michael/LeBron gets night in and night out because he was simply dominating over the other "men" he played against.

Second best center to ever play. In his prime he was the definition of a dominating big man.

Guess you're right I should not have said never.
Break the games down by the first 10 AND LAST 10. When Hakeem and Shaq were both in their prime he out played Shaq. Towards the end of Hakeem's career he was not the same player.

He was dominant. Not the most skilled center like Hakeem or Duncan but due to his size and on-court personality, he was simply dominant.

One of the greatest big men ever.

Phil Jackson got the most out of him.

Probably the most valuable player in the league for about a 5 year stretch.

Shaq with Orlando! nice video, I had forgotten about those days. 1995 NBA finals team Orlando was... Although some think he had "no talent" and anyone who is 7'3" 300 could be shaq...... cmon' man...... he was 260 when he played in Orlando. He looks like shit now, but most guys his age and his size are barely mobile.. he was rookie of the year in 92' He was a beast until about 2003 or so, He was a superior athlete because of his size and quickness, as seen in the orlando video. he was not "skilled" like Olajuwon.. Shaq just dunked and overpowered his opponent. No matter who has ever played the game, Shaq would physically dominate them while pile driving the ball to the rim with force. If your head is in the way , his forearm was going to impact it... foul or not.. Most players today don't want to risk the physical toll. Shaq was fearless..aggressive.... a "bull in a china shop".... and for many years. Some say he was a terrible pick/roll defender, maybe.. But at his prime all you had to do was pass him the ball anywhere near the paint and it was a dunk, or close to it. Rules had to be changed with the hack-a-shaq here in Portland... It was a good strategy until he actually made a few free throws..

Shaq remains one of the worst on air personalities in recent memory in sports... Can barely understand what he is saying, and don't really care anyway.
