I know, I'm just clarifying to people that the reason why defense looks like its so good with these college teams is because few players can create plays off the dribble and if you're smart and know what you're doing it's not hard to just guard the ball for 35 seconds if it's just gonna be passed around like a hot potato and no one has any skill to do anything with it. If these guys had any skill they should be able to pull up from that 3 pt line easily at any moment doesn't even matter if they're guarded it's like a midrange jumper

SEC is just terrible in general with basketball (except for Arky, Kentucky, and Mizzou). Florida is okay on campus but their older fans with money are pretty rednecky like the other deep south teams (LSU, Alabama, Ole Miss, Auburn, Tennessee) and so don't support neutral-site basketball as much as football. Hell, some schools like LSU support dumbass college BASEBALL with about 5 times the fervor which they do basketball.

I think the SEC should have gone for some basketball schools like Louisville or UNC with the latest round of conference redistricting. I think having a couple more pure-basketball schools in the conference could have spurred the rest of the schools to invest and try to take over the sport as they did with football.

Well also because a pure zone is legal in college and the 3-point arc is closer, meaning that the contested area is that much easier to pack in. Plus the refs call travels and ticky tack fouls so much strict in college than NBA, which gives an overall "overcautious" feel to the game. Everybody plays on eggshells what with the quick whistle, only getting 5 fouls, etc. etc. If a star forward drives aggressively to the hoop and happens to pick up 2 bullshit charges, he's done for the entire half.

It's definitely filled up. I remember commenting with 6 minutes left in the first half how empty it was though.
