I would bet all 32 NFL coaches don't want that media circus following their team around this year. Each NFL coach and likely GM is hoping another team will draft him, not their team. I expect a game of chicken between all the teams on draft day.

No, he was projected as around a third rounder before coming out.

Scouting report on Michael Sam:
-Good at handling man on man and backdoor schemes
-Excellent ability to handle ball movement
-Solid penetrating ability
-Top of the line when it comes to plugging holes
-Loves to get double or triple teamed and take on the responsibility

Barry Bonds was black balled in MLB for steroids and he was the greatest hitter of all time.
i would put my money on this guy does not play 1 game in the NFL.
The baggage is too much. Nobody wants that kind of media circus for a 3rd round caliber player.
its just not worth it. It would destroy team chemisty and make players feel uncomfortable and there would be a media circus in the locker room every game and every practice.

No chance he gets drafted first round even if the rest of the draft comes out of the closet .

don't think he'll be a 1st rounder, what are the odds of him not being drafted at all?

They already have, dumbass. I swear, it's 2014 and idiots still think there haven't been gay players yet.
Sam wasn't a 1st round pick before he came out. He's certainly not going to be one considering NFL execs, coaches, and GMs are some of the biggest cowards out there. Remember Jeff Ireland asking that kid point blank if his mom was a prostitute? They'll use any excuse not to draft someone. Or every NFL coach in history not going for it on 4th down 98% of the time?

Please explain to me how a team is "forced" to draft him? Teams draft who they want. There is no forcing teams to draft somebody.

Imagine this tough guy internet poster saying that to the face of a 6'2" 255 lineman. You would shit your pants before your head hit the pavement. "hehehe"
Only in the dumbass world of the NFL would murderers, rapists, and civilian-killing drunk drivers be fine but a dude who likes other guys is somehow a distraction. Don't tell anybody this... this is top secret.... but there were gay NFL players on Lombardi's teams.

You are right, but its totally different to know statistically chances are someone is gay than it is to know for a fact that x player is 100% gay.

But what difference does it make? The guy is a third to fourth round talent, if he slips to the fifth round, GMs should take him, coming out should not change a thing. But sadly it will, which is sad in 2014.

It doesn't make a difference in his talent. What I'm saying is his teammates have more potential to be uncomfortable since they will know without a doubt that he is gay instead of "well there could be a gay guy on the team."

And I say fawk that, they shouldn't really care, and if it bothers them, too bad it is on them then. And he received plenty of positive tweets supporting him from NFL players afterwards. It should be a non-issue, but unfortunately most GMs live in the past and they see this as a big deal. If he lives up to his talent and helps teams win games, that should be all that matters.

I agree completely, but you are always gonna have the guy that doesn't wanna shower with him, and he needs to be able to understand that. They may have zero problems that he's gay, but still have problems changing/showering in front of him. Also, he WILL be a distraction that is unneeded. Look at how much everyone is talking about him. That is not gonna magically go away when he puts on an NFL uniform.

But if I am a GM, I give zero consideration to any of that. If he slips to the fifth round or lower than wherever the GM has him rated, I would take him. The number one priority is to win games, and if guys have a problem showering with him, then too bad. They have to get over it.

I don't think he's good enough to make GMs use your train of thought. Fact of the matter is the GMs are gonna weigh the pros and con's of everything. I think the distraction part will play a bigger role than the teammates caring he is gay. The best thing he can do for himself IMO is not to talk to media about his sex preference. Keep it 100 football.

I'm not exactly sure what a backdoor scheme is, but that is funny still.
Handle ball movement? How about "he has a nose for the ball".
