For 30 years I abused alcohol and Xanax, then added in pain killers for about 7 years. It was a hell of a ride, but costly. 13 months ago I quit cold turkey. I about died. I had 2 seizures and found myself battling demons, vampires and cannibals. I woke up tied to a bed and thought I was in jail. I was in a detox facility. It took all of last year to get my bearings back. Now, I don't partake in those things. Sobriety is very overrated. I'm often very bored without my friends. It was just time for me to stop after at least 30 relapses. Drinking and drugging is why I no longer work at SBR. Had I been sober, I'd been a better employee.
