#38FYI ... if you have DirecTV - they are showing multiple courts. Starts at Channel 701. Stoked because I had not seen them do this outside of the US Open.Comment -

#48Tip for you casual punters that are just popping in from the american sports and looking for a solid play on one of the big four tennis tournaments of the year.
Over 37 games - Fognini vs Bogomolov - Men's tour 1st round @2.04 (25 units)
Fognini is a flamboyant mother rooster_eater, as talented as he is it's only devil's guess work whethr he turns up or not today. He only really gives maximum effort on the red-dirt and therefore I am skeptical as to whether he'll give much so here. He was straight setted by Rajeev Ram at the US Open after his sensational run on the clay. He won a 250 and 500 level atp title last season / year and also reached the final of another 250 level tournament losing to Robredo. All on the red-dirt. He is capable on hardcourts and these hardcourts are slower than the ones at the US Open, so I can't see how he he's going to get thrashed.
Bogomolov is more of a professional than Fognini and doesn't give piss-poor efforts and tank if he's not feeling game. Alot of the crowd will be in force to see and cheer on Fabio. Handsome man with charisma and a flair to his tennis, so I see Fognini throwing on the excellence but I also see Bogomolov, with his decent, solid and intelligent baseline game doing damage also.
Fognini will tank and act like a twat at somepoint throughout the match and Bogo has the quality to win a set over him even if he doesn't
Fognini to take it but the overs line is the best bet. Incredibly low line and 4 sets guarantees it.Comment -

I remember that, hilarious. What was even more hilarious was that the bookies settled because it was after the first set. lol
...to be absolutly fair though Eagle, it was a challenger match and the entire crowd were routing for Sock. We both know that Fognini tanks, swings at balls a lot more frequently in matches when he's just not feeling up to the task. Often he's just nonchalant and blase.
Watchd Bogomolov against Paire at the US Open and his attitude was explemplary and he ended 2013 on a form high. There are no real weaknsses to his game either, he's pretty solid all over and he makes you come up with good tennis to beat him. Defends well and keeps the ball deep during rallies. Can counterpunch arlight, but nothing special. I just feel Fognini is more likely to allow his level to drop and waver, than Bogo. Which kind of guarantees the overs, unless fognini tanks all 3 sets. If both are on it's a close encounter, let's be honest.Comment -

#54Actually seems on your assessment that Bogomolov would have been a better play in your eyes than the over. Bogomolov though to me is back at his level - a Challenger player. Since his breakout year in 2011, he's returned to doing what he does. He crushes it down at that level on hard courts and then is about a .500 player when he moves up to the big boys.
Fognini is what Fognini is. A clay courter who sometimes will effort on hard courts in small tourneys. This match to me easily could go 3-0 either way or go 5. Just really tough to know which knucklehead will have his head screwed on.Comment -

Yeah fognini is just fognini, genuinely deep down knows he's got no realistic chance of reaching the second week a t ahardcourt slam so gives half hearted efforts, same gos for his masters 1000 performances, unless he's playing a top guy (Ala nadal, djokovic) and wants to put ona show.... took sets off them on the hard too.
The australians are an engaging bunch though, unlike the Americans who just sit back and give a mild cheer and stuff, so that's why I steered away from taking Bogomolov on the ML. I feel Fabio may want to entertain a bit here, yet at the same time will have his lapses, that much is generally amost always guaranteed, especially for atleast once out of 3 sets.Comment -

Llodra
Stepanek
Haase
Lu
Around +700, roughly.
Young is being overrated and always chokes at the top level, check his record at atp tour level and grandslams. Haase had a storming 2013 and defends so well, plus posseses a big first serve.
Llodra is in his last season as a professional tennis player, so this is his last aussie open. More talented and capable and those other favourites should win.Comment -

#59Dude, she's 1.08? You serious?
If this is for a big money parlay, forget it, A) it won't make much difference to your total unless you have like 10 plays in there alreayd and B) she's a ballbasher that can have off days, playing against a decent player on her day.
I hate to say this, but from having watched Glushko acouple of times @9.00, there is ever so slight value.Comment -

#70Loving the tournament so far. 6-3-1 so far. Hopefully Fognini and Mahut pull through. Surprisingly I am doing better in the WTA so far as 5 setters seem to be a bit harder to hit game totals.Comment
