didnt read thread but seattle has a short window, as soon as wilson needs to be resigned the team will lose a lot of their other pieces
When RUSSELL WILSON wins the SUPERBOWL this year he will be on Manning/Brady level.

#116The Seahawaks are going to win the superbowl this year. Period. No suspense. Done deal. When they do, Russell Wilson will be considered a top elite QB on the level of Manning and Brady. All it takes is 1 superbowl ring to make people look. Rodgers, Brees, and Manning only have 1 ring yet they are considered top QB's. Wilson will have his first ring in his second season, faster than any of those guys got theirs. Wilson has won more games in his first 2 seasons that any QB ever and Wilson has 2 more games. He will likely have 25 reg season wins in first 2 years, shattering big bens record - of 22. he will be the only QB to have perfect record at home in his first 2 years - he will have done it twice when no other QB even did it once. He has one of the highest passer ratings of asecond year QB. He rarely turns the ball over. He has numerous comeback wins. He was down 20-3 and won. he was also down 21-0 and won and 24-7 and won. So even when his D gives up points he just brings the team back. I will put Wilson up against Brady, Manning, Rodgers, Brees, Big Ben, any of them and everyone will see it when he wins the ring this year.Comment -

#122Wilson with a ring = Manning is too stupid to comment on but this one is!! Manning can only throw the ball about 45 yards in the air in good weather so strong winds + hawks secondary = a UFC cage match for Denver's receivers. Seattle literally couldn't lose with high winds on Sunday!!Comment -

#131That's right fred, not only will Wilson get the superbowl ring like I said he would back in September, but he is going to do it by beating that overrated choker been on so many great teams, but only won 1 SB joke manning. Guy has been on so many great teams yet has less SB wins than his brother, yeah manning is the greatest. pull his rooster out ur mouths long enough to realize that he is one of the biggest chokers ever, how many times did he go into playoffs as #1 seed only to get beat ? Many, let me tell you. All those great teams he QB'd and all he has is 1 ring. Yeah ur right Wilson isn't on his level, Wilson is above his level.
this is what happens in the playoffs you turd.
defense closes out game = win = Seahawks 2013 / defense gives up lead late = lose = Seahawks 2012
I wonder if you could take all the great Patriots/Steelers/Ravens/Chargers teams from throughout the 2000s in the AFC and matched them up with this lil Seahawk team in playoff games how many times the Seahawks would come away with victories 2 or 3 times in a row to be in a Super Bowl
now that's a tough road to a Super Bowl
all your team did was beat a horrible road team in the Saints and get barely get past a 49'er team that was playing its 4th consecutive road game. real impressive
the Seahawks defense is the only factor that is going to keep Seattle in the game. Wilson is just along for the ride and hoping he can come out aheadComment -

#132I have been a lurker for quite some time, and couldn't wait to activate my account to post on this thread. So, Hi all.
I am not going to sit here and say that Russell Wilson will be on Peyton Manning or Tom Brady's level after a win at the Superbowl, but could it not be possible that it may be his first step in that direction?
I believe there is something that a lot of the "Russell Wilson is no more than a game manager" folks have either ignored or have never looked a little deeper to notice. The fact is that in the two years that he has been in the league, there have only been a handful of times where he has even had the opportunity to be more than a game manager! He has not been asked to do anything more than hand the ball off a bunch of times (a lot of times because they have the lead already) and make the majority of his passes on 3rd and long. It is very hard to get in a rhythm or stand out and be able to throw for 300+ yards and 3+ TDs when Pete Carroll doesn't open up the offense and Marshawn Lynch is carrying the ball 30 times per game.
That being said, in the games that Wilson has been actually let loose to play his game and sling it around, he has more than answered the call with poise, smart decision making, and strong, accurate throws. Think back to last years playoffs when the Seahawks fell behind 20-0 going into halftime. They had no choice but to turn him loose, and that should have been the game where Russell earned his stripes and turned into a household name, except the defense couldn't stop the Falcons from scoring a FG in the final seconds of the game. He almost singlehandedly brought the team back in the 2nd half of that game. Other games that he has had the same opportunity, he has shown that he may already be a top 10 QB in this league. If you don't think so, maybe it's time to take a closer look... Other games off the top of my head where he has been let loose are last year vs. SF (until HT in the blowout), this year vs. Atl and New Orleans (during reg season). I also think of the perfectly thrown 4th and 7 touchdown pass vs. SF during NFC championship game a couple weeks back when they needed him to make a play, and the momentum of the game completely shifted. That pass could not be made by a "game manager".
At least this is what I have seen in the games that I have watched. I believe that he can go up against Peyton Manning in a shootout if it turns into that. Does that mean they come out on top? No. And he does not have the weapons that Peyton has either. But I think he's more than capable of keeping his team in the game if it comes to that. I also believe that Sunday maybe be his chance to take that step into the upper echelon of QBs in the public eye. He is going to have to throw the ball, and I believe that he will and he will do it well. I think he surprises a lot of people on Sunday.
Prediction: Russell Wilson leads the Seahawks to a 28-24 victory and wins his first Superbowl.Comment -

#135this turd is an idiot. Manning has never to this day had a defense as solid as what Wilson has had for his two lil shitty years in the league so far. you're gonna compare mostly shitty predictable cover 2 schemes vs the Seahawks of 2012 & 2013 lol... defense is the KEY
this is what happens in the playoffs you turd.

#136This season Wilson vs Brady, Wilson had more TD passes, fewer INT's, higher pass completion % and A much much higher passer rating. Just because he isn't one of the two NFL wonderboys yet doesn't mean he isn't on their level. I think you guys watch ESPN too much. Brady rating 87, Wilson rating 101.Comment -

#139Wilson only does what he does because that is all that is required from him. He is not the bulk of the offense like those elite quarterbacks are. Their teams are built around them.
Alex Smith put up nearly the same numbers as Wilson did this year on a team that only had 2 wins last year. He sure in the Hell is not on the same level as Manning or Brady either.
And If Brady's teammates were not hurt all year(and in jail), he probably would have passed for 5,000 yards and had 30+ TD's. I hate Brady with a passion, but the guy made shit happen this year with almost nothing. I still don't know how he did it. No way in Hell Wilson could have done that.Comment -

That's the problem with these huge QB contracts, it hamstrings the entire team. None of these big contract QB teams have a #1 D because they can't afford it under the cap.
Compare to Russell Wilson's 4 year $3 million contract. Plenty of cap room to keep all of their great players.Comment
